4870x2

gone from 8.11's to 9.1's

600 more 3dmark06 points

end of story :)

Can't get 9.1 to install on my new 4870 at all, which may be down to running driver cleaner a few months back to get rid of old catalyst files. Anyone know of a solution to this, or is it just a Vista re-install?

I am AMAZED how good 9.1 is, you have to respect the only game i am putting real time into is Call of Duty 5 and now i can put on 4x Anti-Aliasing with no hint of drop in fps what so ever...
And to top it off the Image quality is or seems so much sharper and more of a 3d look "depth of field" And Every time I start a game Crossfire works "EVERY TIME" at the momment I am getting a frill out of seeing the Xfire Logo "hehe"

I now feel justified in buying into Xfire at last.....
This is the same for Call of Duty 4 as well, Crysis still feels the same, I have just bought Grid and that is also at 1920 X 1200 4Xmssa fps around 80-130 though seems to have a juddery look/feel when going around corners??

I hope ATI good work carrys on.

The Judder is the way the game is when behind view is used around some corners.

Shall install these tonight and see what gains it has for World at War.
Can get a bit sluggish when theres a lot of smoke in multiplayer...

Take it theres not an official release of the 9.1 for Windows 7 yet?

9.1 - no apparent framerate change for me but the IQ seems to be better than 8.12

anyone else noticed this?

Just an update about GRID I now am using Vsync and It is AMAZING to look at, and also runs smoother with it on, so no frame rate drops around corners.....

Running Quad core & 2 X1950pros in Xfire.
Downloaded, installed sweetly & running benchys/game tests from now, Will post back later.

Runs BF2 sweet which is about all I care about these days, benched slightly higher but who cares about benchys when you trust your own eye. Left4Dead seemed no different & my system has always played games well.
Nowt to report really apart from easy loading & no issues. Maybe I need to buy a PC game instead of all the 360 titles I have purchased recently :p

Just got a 4850 x2 yesterday and installed the drivers that came with it (can't remember the Number, Been on the green team for too long, These new red number confuse me;)) with no issue.

When I installed 9.1 from ATI site i got

aterr.jpg

As well.... Does this mean I'm only running one card? Crossfire is enabled in CCC.

Anyone else with a 4850x2, what drivers are you using?/seeing best results with?

Got 8.11 running on my 2008 server installation, 8.12 running on W7 installation. Need to find another OS for 9.1 i think :p

Not had any problem running anything i want with either of those, so not really in a rush to upgrade yet lol.
