ive decided to return mine, ive not been too impressed by sli or nvidia drivers and confidence in them is shot to bits, its a shame as there is so much to like about the 970's, the refernce coolers look fantastic and cool and quiet and easy on the power draw

I can't you believe you asked that

Gibbo did say earlier that OCUK might look to take back cards from other retailers, but on the basis of offering a fair price for the card, rather than a refund. Not sure where they got to with that, but I doubt it's practical.

I spend just under £12 to return whatever to OcUK. That said, I don't take out extra insurance, as it costs a bomb and would mean going over that £12 limit. I also like my expensive parcels delivered soon as, so they aren't hanging around in the chain. Many people don't know about the £12 limit though.

I sent my card back through http://www.myhermes.com. It was £7.12p signed for and tracked. Only slight negative was the insurance is only upto £250. That isn't too much of a problem for a single card parcel. The other decent option is Royal Mail special Delivery for £11 (which I found out about today ).

Yeah I used Royal Mail, Once hell of a deal for £11 compared to quotes out there

Only thing about Hermes is they are slow

Well I spoke to another etailer this morning which rhymes with van and they have agreed to take back my Gigabyte card.

Time to get another 8GB 290x ordered from OCUK

Reverted back to my Radeon 7950 and I can see the difference in smoothness straight away. The 7950 has very smooth panning left and right with no stutter in FC3, Dying Light, COD:AW, and Watchdogs. The framerate is obviously lower but I am amazed at how much smoother the gaming experience is without the stutter. MSI AB shows steady frame timings which confirms that there are no frame spikes which lead to the stutter.

There is some real problem with stutter with the gtx 970 which could be the drivers or the memory design but either way I'm glad I got rid of it thanks to OCuk.

Now the decision is to either wait and see what AMD bring with the 3xx series or pick up the 8GB 290X on special offer.

hello, really need help here.. do get my 970s still and SLI, or go for 980 OcUK Ref, or the deal on MSI R9 290x 8GB, am only gaming @ 1080p. at min got R9 270.. if get only one card not SLI then goin get myself nice AK Racing Premium Gaming Chair Black & Black :)

Stuck my R9 290x 8gb in yesterday and the difference in games are unreal regarding smoothness. Had a few issues related to drivers on Eyefinity but AMDMatt checked for me and its fixed in the next driver:D

My opinion regarding 970SLI I had nothing but issues there is a voltage bug which drops the clocks on the cards and if you are wanting to use DSR that does not work on SLI also, Though they may be fixing this with a driver update soon.

Really Tempted to send my G1 back as i feel a little "done" but do i ? is the 290x 8gb really got much more punch ? I have NEVER owned an ATI card, Always been a nvid fanboy but they really have got my back up with some of their comments around the net.
