970's having performance issues using 4GB Vram - Nvidia investigating

They got it today and i was refunded by 3pm i think.

I used paypal to pay for the cards if that makes a difference.

I will post my opinion on trust pilot i almost forgot :eek:

did your refund go in to your paypal account or back in to your bank? I paid the same way
 
The refund went back into paypal as thats what i used to buy the cards with.

I recieved 4 emails 2 saying each card had been recived by Overclockers then 2 emails saying each card had been refunded.
 
Woo replacements for 970 sli arrived. These cards are so damn sexy!

Oooooh, they are damn nice looking cards. Would have been a great match for the mayhem a pastel blue and wing force fans I just took out.... To have a 970 build . :rolleyes:


Am still banking on the 970 for 1080. Stubborn!

The two articles on the PC Perspective web site comparing the performance of the GTX 970 and 980 in single-card and SLI configurations respectively are the most in-depth investigations as to whether there's a real issue that I've seen yet.

Interesting read, thx. I had the taste of the problem myself yesterday, when I was testing Dying Light. 1080p, graphics on full, my 970s rocking 80-150 fps outside, memory max on 3.4GB. Then I decided to test recently released 3d fix.
It is still not perfect but the game is on another level. It cuts fps to 30-50, which I could live with for the sake of having proper 3d, but the stutter puts me off. Memory usage goes straight to 3.55GB and beyond and you can really feel what this fuss is all about.
One more thing I would like to add. I learnt three things from this debacle:
1. Nvidias are crooks. (It is a pita amd cannot offer anything I am interested in)
2. Hats off to ocuk, excellent attitude towards customers.(I bought my cards in competition from Bolton, so no chance for refund)
3. Evga rocks! After contacting customer service they agreed to step me up even I had past the step-up window. I know, probably I will end up paying even more money to nvidia:o

I'd love to do that bud but at the moment I have some concerns... I sent my item the day before yesterday and it arrived at OCUK signed, yesterday morning at about 9.30-10am. I got a refund for the postage which was great but it's still showing on the RMA notes as " Awaiting to receive the item ". Everyone else that I've seen that sent there's later than mine or on the same day already has their refund. Yet at OCUK they have my item already

I'm hoping this gets chased up

Jeez its been a day, and they haven't updated their systems. There won't be a problem, you have proof. It seems extremely early to be concerned.

Why not just call, webnote or drop a post in CS section so they can give you an update or make them turn it around faster.

As others have said, it's being a day, competitors have taken 2 weeks to reply to emails for a return and right now both our RMA and Tech manager are in Germany, which could explain why maybe instead of it taking just a few hours it is taking a day or two. Please do as suggested above. :)

Well according to Bailey it should've been processed by now and delays are usually caused by people not putting RMA numbers on the box. I had RMA's all over the place :p

I understand that you would prefer not to use the phone Neil but if you wanted something more immediate then consider doing just that.

OC will come through it is just more likely they have been a little overwhelmed with dealing with these types of returns etc as well as managing their day to day business needs :)

Have faith mate it will all work out.
 
Just again , massive thank you to gibbo and Bailey ( aswell as the rest of ocuk ) .... Sent my cards back off in a rush , forgot RMA number was in such a fuss . Contacted baily to let him know and he following day , bang signed for and refunded all befor the tracker even updated ! That's CS !

Both my 980s have come and a new motherboard that was 28 days gone ( asus ) ocuk kindly replaced with a brand new spanker !
