I think Amazon are pretty ruthless at just withholding money from company’s in situations like this due to being big enough to go ‘yeah… and?’ if they kick up a fuss. I’ve never had a problem returning anything to them even for the most half arsed reasons.

I managed to return a £400 odd phone after 6-8 weeks of having it and not being happy. No questions asked.

I had the same happen at amazon, A graphics card i purchased was advertised
ironically with the wrong amount of memory it was a

"XFX Radeon R9 280 DD Edition Graphics Card (4GB, GDDR5)" (copy and pasted from amazon invoice)

not knowing a thing about AMD cards (got this for a friend due to it being £150 back in october) then much to my disappointment it was 3gb that arrived. so i called them and got a 25% refund whilst keeping the card. This i believe was amazons fault and is now advertised as 3gb.

now i purchased a 970 and been done again:D:D:D

Not having much luck on graphics cards memory

that comes out of their pockets? :o
ok their rather large pockets lol
but i mean u think they did any deal with nvidia?
i find it interesting that altho no laws were broken (that i know of) some big shops have offered refunds, thats not a usual thing

The support person seemed fairly reluctant to give it to me. I had to make a bit of a fuss about customer service etc. They used the "It's a 4GB card" stuff on me. They even suggested I contact Nvidia if I wasn't happy about it. Eventually they caved in.

I know some people will slam me for asking for the refund. But £58 is still £58. I'm happy with my card. Just felt if people are getting it, why not. Amazon make enough money from me!

They're actually going to release cards with a fully functioning memory array.

You heard it here first.

Yup, FC4 at 30fps is great....

Would it not be better to sacrifice some image quality you would hardly notice to get the FPS to over 60fps?

Maybe I am showing my age, but when playing Quake 3, yes I am that old but a higher FPS always gave a more pleasurable and enjoyable gaming experience than say playing at 20-30fps with maximum eye candy.

I used to find some detail settings had little effect on image quality but a drastic improvement on FPS and whilst running around killing everything you did not miss the extra image quality but really enjoyed the improved fluidity of 60fps over 30fps or say 120fps over 60fps. :)

Gaming at 30fps just feels to me well slow, even if it is smooth it is just not the same as having 60fps plus or 120fps plus.

The only technology I have experienced that makes 30fps seem more like say 60fps when it really is not is say G-Sync. :)

30fps....Wouldn't catch me dead playing a game that low. Feels like playing in mud, everything you do just feels slowmotion. Horrible. Turn the settings lower, you might find yourself playing the game. Goes for all games.

For games like this? IQ maxed out with 4x MSAA @ 1440P isn't going to get me that higher FPS with it off anyway, i'm not running Cross-Fire.

It's a single player adventure game... its much better to have all the eye candy than the frame rates

Whats more this game is actually reasonably smooth with the 30 FPS cap, which is more than can be said with it off.
