A Battlefield 2142 thread

yep its working now i just restarted the game and all is fine but im actually a little bit bored with the game now.
Im not too keen on the level with the demo its a bit bland and the weapons dont seem too special luckily my sniper rifle is pretty nice except for the short zoom which i know you can get a better one later on when your rank improves which is a nice idea :)
Im still gonna get this game and put more effort into it than i did BF2 with only 40hrs playtime since release.
Sniper is still my fav class and i was shooting ppl left right and center then a mech came blam no chance :p

I think i will rarly play conquest mode as i think bf2 does a better job of that but titan mode is what for me keeps me wanting more. Im sniper when the sheilds are still up just protecting a missle launcher but as soon as sheilds are down im assault class and ready to storm the enemy titan :)
 
This game is awesome! :D The demo installed with no problems and ive only lost a connection once in 2 hours. Its like battlefield 2, only better! I havn't played for 6 months so im a bit of a noob right now, but once i get good again i'll be playing this a lot!
 
Are ppl getting disconnected from the Multiplay Uk servers? it was the same in the beta for me if i used one of them id get constantly 'problem with connection', tried server 18 today with the demo got about 10 mins then 'problem with connection'
 
Love it. Shame none of the unlocks can be used. Also remove extra armour for more speed. You get even more speed with unlocks.
 
Do the older generation Hate this game and the younger generation love it?

Im seeing BIG differences of opinion from one forum to another
 
No idea but it just plain sucks. It seems infantry combat is worse than in BF2 (I'd actually go as far to say its near non-existent). Its almost like the franchise is turning into Battlefront. Pick up a vehicle and its a good laugh for 10 mins, when on foot boredom sets in after 5.

I dont think top clans will like this tbh.
 
Well I gave the game a few hours of my saturday....what a mistake.
It was mildly entertaining at first but after a while it just felt like a very poor battlefield 2. The futuristic theme does not appeal to me at all, and I for one will not be ordering.
 
Looks like ea didn't learn their lesson with bf2 and they are still making us pay for beta software.
Got a bsod with the demo, keep getting a memory leak with bf2, tech support says 'reinstall windows'.
Go to hell ea.

I've never had bf2 work over the two machines i've tried to play it on, tech support can never solve the issue. Bf2 is still in beta.

You can't, after the demo i tried to cancel my preorder, got an email from ea stating that all ea downloader preorders are final and can't be refunded even though the damn game hasn't started preloading yet. :rolleyes:

Sniper rifles the top kit on the selection screen.

Older generation probaly has more experience with ea and their half assed rushed out the door patched to hell games. Ive said it once and ill say it again, bf2 is still buggy as hell and the game was DELAYED, id love to have seen what crap they would have put out if it had come out on time in the first place. :mad:

Yup, combat for infantry was a joke in bf2, in this its just laughable. :(
 
There is one good thing about this game and that is it won't take away from BF2 vanilla.
Its utter Tripe and i cannot believe the same people made this as did BF2. I have around 1200 hours logged on BF2 and love it to bits but 2142 is Crap.
Downloaded and ran a treat on my system but then i haven't had any probs with BF2. But the game play and general feel to the game is vague to say the least.
At least i now know not to waste my money so Thanks for the demo EA :p
 
With Microsoft software nobody serious about their software will roll it out until the second service pack has proved to be sound.

Battlefield is going the same way. Everyone knows it will be buggy on release but if EA/Dice get the first few patches right it could make a big difference to their credibility. They lost a lot of that with BF2.

I still havent ordered the game, I'm still not sure.
