A battlefield2 thread

I just started playing BF2 again and already i can see one of the reasons why i left in the first place. All the stupid radio spam that happens, you cant hear the damn game itself. Its stupid that there seems to be no way to lower radio volume to 0.

Try PR mate its a whole new game without the nobs....Plus it takes skill unlike Vanilla which lets face it you get 50 kills no prob's. went back to the original and played wake and got 70 kills and something silly point wise. And the thing was I was playing in my PR style still so should have got a lot more I forgot bullets don’t hurt and you can parachute out anything……….even buildings.

So back to PR for some full on action

There is a delay of about 1.5sec when scoping, everyone has it, so you should not be unduly handicapped.

Least i am not the only one then:rolleyes:

though my FPS isnt great...on gulf of oman its fine, 60+ fps all the time but under some heavy action on say karkland it can seem a bit jerky, probably cpu?

Hmm anyone here heard anything about something called Battlefield 1943: Pacific? Someone mentioned it too me earlier today and entering it into google just gives a load of French Sources that apparently announce it but I can't read them unfortunately.

That still gets up my nose & i wonder what Dice was thinking in not allowing you to change the volume on the radio. Maybe there is away through the config file.

Without wanting to sound flippant: you need a better server. Constant spamming is a royal pain but it annoys everyone. A well admin'd server will see that the spammers are gone in sort order.

Good servers can come and go. Find a good one and you are golden for as long as it lasts. At the end of the day, it's BF2; it is what it is. There will always be knobs, you just to hope that the admins are better :)

(For the record, I'm playing on Sandviken atm, great bunch).

The problem is though on a 64 player server there can be 32 teammates, and so with that many people there doesn't have to be a spammer for the radio to just get swamped with all the people using it, even for legitimate uses. Nothing can stop that because there might not be anyone spamming, and so admins can't do anything.

Im thinking about installing this again, on xfire its ranked number 5 on the most played list which seems good, but is there a good selection of european servers around with enough players?

In respsone to radio spamming/chat. Easy solution would be for you to turn it off and instead only get radio chat from your squad and commander (when neccesary). But this doesnt mean i dont want to be able to see where other players have spotted enemies ;)

Yes mate there are many local servers with excellent pings for British based players. I get pings of around 30 on 64 man IO servers & pings of about 50 on vehicle servers & there is Never a shortage of servers or players online.
The community is as active as ever with players coming back to BF2 on a Daily basis.
So,
Welcome back to the Battlefield soldier :D
