Hmm interesting additions. But i think i will still wait for the full release.

Nice to hear about No CD and Widescreen Support :D, anybody be able to post some 1920x1200 screenies?

Im amazed to say the least that anyone likes infantry only in this game, it was always lacking compared to vehicle combat and always seems to be an afterthought in these games. *first to spam prone wins, lulz*

Anyway this new patch, can it work from a fresh install of bf2 or do i have to go through the usual bf2 patch jigsaw puzzle?
 
Requiring v1.41 to be installed, the incremental update brings the new "Blue Pearl" map to the multiplayer shooter, along with better Vista support, widescreen support, compatibility with Novint's three-dimensional Falcon controller, and more.

'Tis not a complete patch, it requires v1.41 to be installed prior to running the beta. Launches pretty quick, much faster than than the v1.41 if I recall correctly.

Server connection issues are fairly common, but perserverance is key! ;) Map is the quickest turn-round of posession I have ever played! A real death trap as already mentioned. No pesky aircraft and foggy thereby hindering snipers means a real infantry team based assault/defence map encaouraging team work. I for one am throroughly enjoying the new map! :D
 
Im shocked it took them like 3 years since this last update and they only released 1 Map!!! i could create 100's in that space of time.

Since this is the beta for the new update, im sure there will be more maps when its released.
 
As soon as I launch it, it goes to a black screen and then just boots me back to desktop. I've tried all the tricks I know, not sure what to do next!
 
I just got a Valorous award & Gold on Highway, Still life in this old dog. :cool:


Not one single kill in a chopper or plane either I may add.

Yes it was working fine. I did a fresh install and immediately installed the new patch (BF2, BF2 SF, 1.5b) and no go. I thought I'd try installing the previous patch and did that (1.4) it went in to the game and let me change some settings but when I go to the sound config it just crashes to desktop. Afterwards, there's no sound.

You Have to. The new map is a Maze of death traps that you need to learn to stay alive. On top of this the New buzz is Raw & all are playing casually steaming about having much Lollage.
Get in there & have some fun. :cool:

Mine did this, I reinstalled, patched to 1.41 and then to 1.5 and now its fine.

I think the first time I went straight from retail to 1.5 and it didn't like it.
 
I wish I had done some before and after shots before I patched, the FOV just doesn't look right to me.

Also, couldn't get into any servers to begin with, it would just fire me back to the server menu after trying to enter one.

However, the new map is absolutely fantastic, for some reason after seeing the overhead map I just wasn't looking forward to it, but my goodness it is fantastic. Hit detection doesn't completely blow now too.
