A battlefield2 thread

My mate has a 2nd hand copy of BF2 for sale in his shop, I asked him how much it was & he said "3 Quid" :eek: + :eek:
To think of the hours I have played BF2 for & just how much fun can be had out of this game & somebody could have it All for 3 quid. :p
 
I saw the ultimate pack available in the purple signed games retailer for £5 Brand new yesterday.

Bargain - Just got back into this game, nothing is more satisfying than taking out the attack chppers with single AT missles :D
 
Patches to 1.41 then installs add on games and then reinstalls 1.41. In Vista you need to run the game as Admin, also you sometimes have to update Punkbuster manually so may be the same in Windows 7.

Though that was a massive fluke and i haven't done it since :(

Also think you may have to update punkbuster manually everytime it needs it, i got the pbsetup from their site and it updates all the PB games on your computer in one go.

If its rc 7100 then you will be fine, anything else wont run with punk buster at the moment, i have tried various versions with no luck at all
 
1.5 beta patch 2

Edit: Ok the patch is 1.3gb, so that can be my last resort. Anyone know anything more regarding my no-cd query? I wouldn't want to go and get my account banned because I wanted a few cheeky games on a hospital bed.

Just tried 1.5 beta patch 2 and it crashes a lot and the sounds stutters bad so I stopped using it. It does remove the CD check though. From what I have read on other forums including the EA official one is 1.5 final will never happen.

On a note with install when I tried to install BF2 after the disc copy stage it hung doing nothing. I check Task Manager and found BF2VoiceSetup.exe running. If I close this down and end task it the install continues. (Vista 64).
As I don't use voice ingame I guess I`m okay.

Its a pity the 1.5 patch is so buggy as the widescreen modes are useful (before u say I know about the Widescreen fixer prog and the properties commands)

you need tomodify the games shortcut - there are lots of examples in the thread - sorry can't be arsed to search

Something like

.exe" +fullscreen 1 +menu 1 +srx 1680 +sry 1050


Sorry at work right now so no bf2 shortcut to look at

i have a issue with this game for some reason it wont start, i tried re installing it and it still wont work, basically the bf2 splash screens shows then nothing happens and my pcs gets very laggy, when i look at processes the disc checker process called e5.0001 is running like 80 -90% of the cpu time hoe do i fix this?
 
Sounds like a resolution issue.

I miss this game, i miss being on fire and killing 20 people in a row with an l96 on karkand, to then get vote kicked for "cheating" by all the medics hahahahahahahahahaha
