A battlefield2 thread

I read of this problem earlier but really don't fancy trawling through 150 posts.
If my meory is correct (doubtful) it was something to do with deleting your profile and associated files on your hard drive manually.

edit OMG its 3000 posts and 150 pages. You cannot blame me sureley lol.

I installed the latest patch and it makes me hard disk go crazy all i can hear is it constantly accessing, it randomly crahses, and restarts so i ahve to go through post re laod windows, yoy. oh and you'll love this everyime i join a game or rotate map, Optimizing shaders.and i lose parts of my score :( loads of my kills are missing

Defrag your hard drive to get all those files close and in order.

I had this prob as soon as i got the game it turned out to be my NOD32 AV somehow stopping it working i uninstalled NOD32 and it installed fine.
This was after i allready done a reformat and still have the same prob.
 
When browsing the net for info on how to obtain the medals etc, i came along this, according to people i know, the rquirements are accurate.
But im rather shocked by the medal requirements, for some medals you need 5000+ hours of gameplay :| which is more then 200 days non stop gameplay :eek:. I honestly do think EA went a bit mad with the medal system :\.

Try that..worked for me once before when a game wouldnt install..there were 'leftovers' that had to be removed.

It's not that bad, just seems you're having a few probs. Myself, i love it..any of the bugs that are present don't spoil the fun for me. :)
 
Yep! but it keeps those hardcore/ "OMG i needz0r all *** medalz!" players going for a few years :/ Plus, would be interesting to see someone at the highest rank.

Yes but it isn't designed to be completed with an intense gaming session over the weekend, it's designed for those willing to put the hours in over time.

I prefer it like this, I probably will never ever get half of the medals, but then again if I was in the army I would probably never ever make General. It's kinda realistic.
 
Ffs this is annoying now, im on a 2mb line, and every now and again i keep getting "There is a problem with your connect" and then it disconnects me,for no reason!

Whats wrong with it? Also when i refresh sever lists i get pings off 100+ and the odd ping below 60
 
That's probably the server going down for maintainence, or them just rebooting it.

Alternatively it may be a problem with your line.

The pings in the server menu seem to be pretty far fetched at the moment though

no a lot of people are getting the there is a problem with your connection my hdd still is in overdrive a lot of the time and i defragged my hdd and its stil mental, plus the 2 minute freeze after you exit the game, this is why i despise EA you pay an outrageous ammount for something and its just not that good, the demo was brilliant as it was free but when you pay for something you jsut feel cheated.
 
Just had my proudest moment in BF2, got my Basic Knife Combat ribbon :D

Was such a laugh on Strike of Karkand using nothing but my knife, I managed to get 8 kills to 12 deaths in 1 round
