Gah sick of the dropouts. Every match at least twice it drops out. Opened practically half the port range that you possibly can to no avail

This thread is crazy and I can't be bothered to read more than 5 pages back. But in special forces, is it right that only a particular side has the unlocked weapons in particular maps?
I'm thinking, among others, the map with the palace with two CP's at the top of the map - only one side gets the unlocked SF weapons, the other can only get normal weapons.

no, if the server has unlocks allowed, everyone gets them (assuming they as an individual have unlocked them)

I have indeed unlocked them, it is very annoying because I purposely switch sides just to be able to use the F2000 sometimes. The other side 'only' makes the G3 available. (I've unlocked the BF2SF support, special forces and assault guns)
There is a variable you see in the loading screen for "Global Unlocks" - does this have anything to do with it? Because it is usually set to 0.

how many points are needed for the 2nd unlock? 1000?

i got a special ops gun with the first unlock, now a play as a medic all the time DOH!

thought this may be the best thread to post the question in, but does anyone use a no dvd crack for bf2 or SF. I've got the legit dvd version of both but with only one dvdrom my dvds are starting to get a bit scratched from all the changing between the two, CS:S, AOE3 and the dvds ive been watching

would rather address this now before one gets ruined.

alternatively has anyone tried copying it to keep the read dvd free from damage.

what are the general thoughts on no dvd cracks, is it likely to be detected as a cheat and therefore get me kicked from various places or is it just a simple, no dvd needed on with the game fix?

No DVD cracks won't work.

There are other ways to get it to work, though I don't think they're technically legal.

legitimate cds/dvds are generally not prone to 'cracking'.

You are entitled to make personal copies of your own cds/dvds for such circumstances. If you have problems RMA to the publisher.

UK law doesn't allow this I don't think, though I may be getting confused with music/film DVD/CDs here...

I have a problem, not that i worry about it that much, but, sometimes when i join a server, voice.Mic works fine, then it just stops for the rest of the time in the server. Is this a normal known problem or have i set something up wrong ? My mic is set up correctly as at times, Yes people can hear me, but then it will just stop working when i press the mic button, when it works i get the icon on screen and then nothing at times.

Oh and what is it with people in your own team, killing you so they can get the plane that you have been waiting for for the last 3 minutes huh !!!

Just click on the weapon swap button in the kit selection screen twice!

I have noticed VOIP stoppinig from time to time, like when i am in a very talkative squad and it all suddently goes quiet. Not worried much about it though.

Oh and yes... TKing for a vehicle is the lowest thing you can do imo.
