A thread to talk about the latest and last film, and all things Harry Potter.

I'm really excited about this, it's the end of a massive part of my childhood for me.

Haters stay out, I promise not to go on a mega rant and rewrite the film as I've done previously as well :p

UK Cinema Release Date:
Friday 15th July 2011
Directed by:
David Yates
Written by:
J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves
Produced by:
David Barron, David Heyman, J.K. Rowling

Hopefully this film will restore my faith in the films (not been a fan of them since the third) and will be an epic end to one of the best and biggest series ever told :)

As much as me and my girlfriend REALLY want to see this, I just HATE kids/crowded cinemas/fat people noshing all way through the film and groaning/people who talk all the way through/chavs

So i'm going to wait a week or 2 before seeing it at a really early viewing, in 3d ofc. :D

Off to see it in IMAX 3D on Friday 15th. Going at 8pm, would've loved to go to midnight showing (no kids :D) but got work on Friday and teaching a class of kids having been up till 3:30/4am wouldn't be the best :(

Can't wait. I love the books, and love the films. Can't wait to see the break-in to Gringott's and the final battle looks epic from the trailer.

I have more or less already grown tired of the 3D malarky, but I have to say I will defo be seeing this in 3D seeing as its the last ever Potter film and I am really quite into the whole Potter thing. Half Blood has been the best film so far by a long chalk and Alan Rickman as Snape has been simply superb as far as I'm concerned.

Do. Not. Get. Me. Started. On. That. Awful. Interpretation. Of. The. Book. That. Film. Sucked.

Seriously, don't I had an epic rant and rewrote it in another thread.

OK I have something i want to get off my chest. It's book related.

I think, and most people would disagree with me, that Half Arsed Prince is the weakest of the series. Both book, and film. In my opinion, the film was absolutely dire, but that is another post.

I'm just re-reading the book now (Half Blood Prince), and something is really winding me up. In actual fact, it's Harry's continual "Malfoy is a deatheater" statements. I thought to myself, "it's ok, it's supposed to be annoying. That's somewhat the point" which i guess is fair, but then something struck me.

After 5 years of constantly revealing truths that no one believes, you'd think that people might actually start to listen to him. You know, no matter how wild it is. You'd think when Harry, after 5 years of being bullied and mocked and yet always ALWAYS turning out to be right, says something like "Malfoy is a death eater" someone might say "Well, Harry, maybe you're right!" or at the very least "It seem's unlikely Harry but what can we do to find out for sure either way?".

I don't know. Maybe it's just because it's my least favourite of the series but i'm finding it really hard to read through for a second time, whereas i thouroughly enjoyed rereading OOTP and GOF.

This might not be thread relevant, but it says "all things harry potter" up there.

Having read each book, probably 10 + times each, I can't help but agree with you a bit.

I always wondered why nobody paid more attention to his claims after most of what he said turned out to be truth, especially after he who must not be named returned.

They're some of my favourite books, I love them all, I take your point about it being the weakest in the series, I'd be tempted to agree on that as well. The film was utterly shocking.

It's a separate screening. Massive screen. Seats are amazing, they feel like massive arm chairs. You get service / drinks bought in to you :)

Can have alcohol and shizzle in there too. Not many seats though, I'd guess... maybe ~50 at a push.

I'm a fan of the books, but the films leave too much content out, even sometimes big‘ish plot lines

Harry Potter will never be anything other than a '"Worst Witch" rip-off to me.

Thats nice. Thanks for the contribution. Top stuff. It needed to be said. A worthy post.

etc etc etc

Brum imax for me and the missus :D Really looking forward to it. Not a fan of 3D but with a fair few battle scenes should make things interesting.

There's a showcase deluxe in town, im gonna convince the girlfriend.
We both have Cineworld cards but I think that this directors hall deserves a 1 off chance with harry potter ;)

Ah it's brilliant, it's very expensive (compared to the expensive cinema) but I've always thought for either a really special film or occasion it's worth it :)

They tend to show one film per week / couple of weeks. Depends on releases.

What's that quoted post? Van Hellseek in trollin' shocker? :o
