A Harry Potter thread.

That's a pretty good shout actually, but he'll always be Gandalf :(

*ps it's SIR Ian Mckellen to us mere mortals :p

Dumbledoor is portrayed terribly in the films since the second one. In the goblet of fire he actually grabs Harry and presses him against the wall

Yeah, I don't care much for Gambon's portrayal of Dumbledore - doesn't have that presence about him (no offence to him, just my opinion).

Out tomorrow here. Suckers.

Curse you!

I would go see it on the 15th as soon as it comes out but none of my friends want to go! And I'm not going on my own!!

It's going to be so goooood and I don't want to miss it :'( Lol :/

That trailer is so epic I have seen it so many times.

Watch it nearly 2-3 times a day along with other things. I'm going to cry during this movie..

It's not been cut.
What do you look like?

Oriental kid with slicked back hair (the stylists thought my usual hair stuck out too much/wasn't geeky enough :(). I was mostly waving from the Hogwarts Express in the background, my friends with surnames closer to A were at the front and easier to spot (one of them got an owl!). Apparently they re-shot a few bits since they all looked too old in their make up.

I concur with those who preferred the books. I've just finished reading books 1-7 for a second time, but instead listened to them being read out by Stephen Fry.

Favourite character from the franchise has gotta be Luna Lovegood, because she's nuts!

Plus, I like the fact that the story was set around my age, Harry being just 1 academic year behind me, starting Hogwarts in 1991.

agreed, i actually liked Richard Harris over Michael Gambon, better actor, more screen presence and even when he wasn't talking, he conveyed volumes just standing there and the facial expressions just solidified everything about him, shame he died now :(

The reshoot didn't deal with the main cast, so you might be there, so many extras in the background though that I can't remember.

As much as me and my girlfriend REALLY want to see this, I just HATE kids/crowded cinemas/fat people noshing all way through the film and groaning/people who talk all the way through/chavs

So i'm going to wait a week or 2 before seeing it at a really early viewing, in 3d ofc. :D

This is how I feel, really want to see the movie and we have a baby sitter this Friday which is rare but I really dont want to sit in a busy cinema. I normally stay away from busy times and if I can, go when the kids are still at school.

You can find some cinemas with extra fancy seating, with a mini bar and luxury seats. If the people who visit your local cinema are that bad, you still have the option to take that route.

I might down.... errr watch it when I can, not really a harry potter fan just watch it for some light entertainment
