A Harry Potter thread.

I'm wondering what they've done with the Epilogue, I wonder if there are still shots from the initial shoot at King Cross (that I was in) after they did the re-shoot, or if it's been cut altogether.

ive just been trying to prebook some tickets for Manchester Imax, but can only find Imax3D listed - is this correct? I rather fancied an Imax sized screen but not overly keen on the idea of glasses and 3d.

I cant decide now if to book my local 2d one or give the 3d one a whirl - what are you others planning?

Half blood prince was one of the weakest Harry Potter books IMO. Actually, the film made the 'twist' seem more logical in that it didn't just spring the 'twist' upon you, the book was stupid:

"Death eaters!!!! How did you get in here?! It's impossible!!"
"We secretly teleported in"
".... shut up"
"No really, we did"
"You can't"
"*sigh*, go back to the first book"
"..... where"
"page 125 paragraph 4"
"....."
"half way down the page. Mentions a secret cupboard for teleporting"
".... oh come on! That's so lame"
"Sorry chump face!"

Finally managed to get some friends to agree to see this with me :D

6 tickets booked for the 9.15 showing of the last two films back to back

It's not been cut.
What do you look like?

I had an interesting time in the back row with my first girlfriend at a screening of the second film, so the Harry Potter series will always be close to my heart :p

I love the HP films and I can't wait for the last one, but my only gripe is that which idiot casted Michael Gambon as the replacement for Dumbledore. :(

I always wanted Gambon to play Olivander and Richard Hurt who plays Olivander to play Dumbledore :p

Anway! If you enjoyed the films you should give the books a go, much better and aren't just aimed at children.

Dumbledoor is portrayed terribly in the films since the second one. In the goblet of fire he actually grabs Harry and presses him against the wall

John Hurt has to much of a croaky voice to play Dumbledore tbh. I'd have thought he'd have been better suited to playing the role of Voldemort.

The acting has never been a strong point in these films anyway.

Actually feeling quite sad that it's all coming to an end. So many memories attached to the HP movies, uni, girlfriend (now wife), mates (some passed away some still around).

I do feel quite attached to the characters as though they're younger siblings I've seen grow up. Sounds really stupid but.......... :(

Me and my Friends are going to the first showing which is at 12:00am on Thursday, were going to Troll everyone because were all dressing up in Lord of the Rings Costumes.

I disagree about the acting, besides the child actors the standard of acting has been very high and has visibly improved each film. I like Hurt's voice and thought it would have done well with Dumbledore :p

Some of the child actors have improved massively while we're on the subject; Emma Watson, Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis (Hermione, Draco and Neville) are all more then capable young actors. Daniel Radcliffe is very wooden and poor which in the first ~2/3 films you forgave because of his age and the role wasn't "too" challenging but since then as shown he's not able to perform to the level required to be the leading role, Rupert Grint and the Phelps brothers (Ron, Fred and George) are all quite good, better in comedic roles then serious ones mind.

Never read any of the books, never seen any of the films!

Awesome. Amazing contribution right there.
