A8R32-MVP what is it

set the display of catalyst to advanced then on the left tree menu it's the last item, it may not display the option if you don't have 2 cards though......

No with one card is does not display this option. To bad as Nvidia allows some cards to run SLI mode even with one card installed for Ceratin games, which increases frames by about 5-10 frames for a single card in certain games.

Hi there

100's in stock now and on This Week Only at just £104.95 +VAT which is a stunningly low price for a great motherboard. :)

I set mine up a little different than you all do. I use the task manager to shut off everything including explorer, I read it is best to benchmark only after a new reboot, helps the scores a lot.

That is cheating when turning off stuff... Why? because you don't run yoru computer that way 100% even when gaming.

If you have do so then your system sucks A$$

You caught me, ky system sucks ass.... I am not benchin windows, im hardware benchin..

Learn how to speak with respect would ya

Ok i respect you and your machine, but I don't respect your benchmark, as i go by how a system is configured with all resources that would be nomally running on bootup and the way you play games.

Sure we all can turn off resources and get an extra 100 to 200 points depends on build, you have to include Windows OS'es resources within the benchmark, as this is how many will use the system.

It`s a matter of what your benching to me.. I wasnt looking for how fast a game would run, as a game engine can be tweeked... I was looking for hardware performance..

Sorry if I mislead anyone

If you prefer to bench like that it's fine, as you know what scores you had with previous hardware so you have a base for personal comparison, it's not about impressing others, and benchmarks don't always reflect in game performance anyway.

In any case , those guys who are in the leaderboards and fighting for first, use liquid nitrogen which is hardly fair either, but it's accepted as the way for a bigger score, they also use fresh xp installs and and many other tricks..............

Gibbo that price is awesome, no-one else on the web has is it for that price, the board is now usable and worth it for a crossfire rig........

I only benchmark for me, I share my benchies if asked.. I run 3dmark01 se..not many people do it.. but I have every score from 2001 on, anytime I made hardware changes. Kinda gives me a feel for how much bang for my buck I got.

Gibbo the best price before on the web was £5 more but they have now increased £10 more

so still a good price

good job the bios is sorted now :D

Hi, I've just ordered one as the company I returned my 'faulty' one too is messing me about and it looks like they won't get me back one until the end of the month, which will mean I'll have one going spare :-) Arrives sat, will build it then, hopefully it will work ok. Just one thing, I never really tested out my single core with the programs that everyone was having issues with and the previous bios. My issues were with Quake 4, which may have been cured with a memory upgrade, are there any demos out there that are the same as the ones that gave the stuttering problems? I have got HL2, shall I try that as it might settle this single core/dual core issue, or has this already been resolved?

Slightly OT, but since this is a crossfire board... Steam have posted a survey showing crossfire users accounting for only 1.37% of their population. That's a total of 33 of us crossfire users compared to 2373 SLi users playing HL2, CS etc. The Inquirer reported it as being 26 Crossfire users so presumably the survey is dynamic. (Edit: just noticed it is dynamic as was last updated this morning at 11:27). They also reckoned that that could easily account for just the number of review systems floating around.

Seems a little low to me and there are a few strange things. Like the X1900 doesn't appear under the video description heading. And Xpress 3200 is missing too. Loads of other system information included in the survey. It's here if you're interested.

I think may have found a potential problem when watercooling or fitting third party heatsinks to the X1900 Mastercard.

The mastercard has an extra core (could be the composite engine) that is thermal padded the same as the memory chips.

Im guessing this needs a heatsink even maybe a passive one.

Any ideas or has anybody done this themselves

thats a bit of a downer , i think that is the composite engine chip, can you get a passive cooler on it ?

quick question have you fitted the mem coolers , resarator on the way

or try the zalman importers ( can not post link as they are competitors )

Well i have had the X1900XTX on the reserater fine as you know.

The composite engine chip on the master i have no idea about really.

If you were to mount anything on, looking at it, it would have to be glued :(

I will post a pic

see what you mean , the problem is you do not know what the disipation on that chip is

It could be simlar to the mem chips just being cooled because they are under the heat sink , but it is a hard one to call does it need cooling if so how much

a glued on would fit but if it is wrong then removing it would be a pain, hell i use loctite 603 to hold loco wheels on so glue will get a good hold
