They can be in any socket. For best performance you should consult the manual for your board and see if it supports (most probably does) dual channel. If it does, put it in the slots that the manual tells you to.
Almost done basically im just wondering, in places where i have two cables but one plug, is it ok to just leave the plug hanging as it would ? doesnt seem right thats all
Not every cable from the PSU has to be connected. The ones not used you can either try to hide to improve airflow or just leave hanging. Just make sure everything that needs power has power Let us know when you get it started!
thanks, im excited but worried incase it doesnt work -.- ive got the 8 pin and 24 pin plugs, all the LED plugs for the case, the USB, HD sound, the ones i havent got are AC97 and another plug which seems to fit into my HDD and ODD, there like wider sata cables, does the ODD and HDD hve to be directly connected to the PSU ? Or is motherboard good enough?
