Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010, Yas Island Marina Circuit - Race 19/19

Speaking of which, well done to Adrian Newey. He deserves that constructors title more than anyone, for a simply outstanding car. :)

People keep mentioning AN as if he built the whole thing himself - it seems rude to completely ignore the dozens of other peoples expertise that went into that car too.

Ok, fair point, but without knowing who did what, I can't really congratulate them individually can I? Thus, the head bloke gets the credit, since the RB has dominated so many races.

No but you could have said, 'Adrian Newey and his engineering team' or something, which wouldn't have just completely ignored their existence.

great lap from hamilton, so close to pole, think he has a huge chance of the win tomorrow.

considering the huge car advantage redbull have, hamilton is only .050 behind.

fingers crossed for a button kamikazi in the first corner taking out alonso and webber :p

hamilton and vettel .4 clear of the rest of the field, they will drive away with it.

Great Quali!!

Former FIA president Max Mosley says there is "no doubt that this championship will be devalued if Alonso wins and the points obtained by breaking the rules on team orders define the final result". (The Times)

"Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber have been given the blessing of Bernie Ecclestone to use team orders to defeat Fernando Alonso in the title showdown - as long as it is not done Ferrari-style."

Should be a Great Race tomorrow!

Q2 and my heart was going like the clappers at the thought of Lewis not making it through to Q3, but he did :). Then Q3 had me on my feet ... truly brilliant stuff. Really pleased both Jenson and Lewis had strong pace in qualy, bit gutted for Webber but the race will probably change all that.

Definitely need some valium for the race tomorrow, it's going to be absolutely awesome.

Has Button ever performed a kamikazi move in his life? He is the definition of steady eddie and does his best not take undue risks. His whole driving philosophy is to not necessarily be the fastest, but be the most consistent and finish the most races. The guy hardly ever makes any mistakes, which has to tell us something.

My understanding is that the McLarens are starting on the dirty side of the track, so this may cause a problem from them off the line.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Vettel and Alonso enter the first corner, 1-2, in that order. What counts in Hamilton's favour is that he is one of the fastest starters in the World.

Apart from the first lap, I can't see how this race is going to be anything other than a procession/borefest.

real shame lewis didn't get the pole though

Well not a pole but he did get a bollard.

Wonder how Alonso feels knowing he's got Webber behind who must try to get past him or lose the championship, not too good having a guy with everything to gain and nothing to lose behind you in a fast car.

My prediction/hope for tomorrow -

Hamilton to jump Vettel, and Button to jump Alonso on first lap.

Webber to take out or force Alonso to pit for tyre/wing change early on.

Vettel to follow Hamilton but not risk going for the overtake knowing he has a 9 point cushion, but for Hamilton to back Vettel into Button - who can win Hamilton the title by either leapfrogging Vettel or taking him out in the attempt.

Meanwhile if Alonso is still in the race he just has to claw his way back into a points finish to win the title.

From the BBC "We understand Massa and Hamilton called to the stewards room regarding the incident in qualifying"

I hope nothing happens to either.

i think they think "we've possibly got the biggest finish to an F1 season for a long long time, lets not mess this up by taking the wild card out of it."

which translates to: were going to get one of the biggest viewings ever, CHACHING.
