Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010, Yas Island Marina Circuit - Race 19/19

i think they think "we've possibly got the biggest finish to an F1 season for a long long time, lets not mess this up by taking the wild card out of it."

which translates to: were going to get one of the biggest viewings ever, CHACHING.

"Apparently no further action to be taken against Hamilton or Massa. As both made it to Q3 that is the right decision"
From the BBC

Thank god for that ;)

 Only just saw the result. Vettel has been sensational the last few races, hope he wins. However, I can see Webber getting knocked off or losing a lot of places and Alonso winning the WDC. Just hope Alonso's engine blows!!!

To be honest, Alonso is by far the best placed to win this championship after today. I can't see Webber or Button giving him any trouble, Hamilton and Vettel will fight for the win and Alonso will just breeze through the chequered flag in 3rd and win the title.

But ofcourse anything can happen really :p

So even though Button/Hamilton are starting on the dirty side of the track, you think they can jump guys who are starting ahead of them?

Although I think it's unlikely to happen, it has happened before this season. But saying that I think its more likely that Alonso will get Hamilton, especially if he gets pressured into a mistake again.

Being fast in a particular sector is one thing. Actually making that advantage count and sticking an overtaking manoeuvre is a completely different story.

Hamilton is the best overtaker in F1 right now, so maybe he could manage this on Vettel, but I highly doubt it. Button is definitely not a good overtaker, so to expect him to overtake a faster car (driven by the Worlds best driver), in sector2, after the race has started, is taking a big leap of faith. Especially when you consider that McLaren and Ferrari seem to have a car which is similar in performance, on this track.

I know that there are many Button/Hamilton supporters in here, but some people need to get realistic.

My belief is that the only overtaking action, among the front runners, we shall see tomorrow, shall be off the line (and maybe during the pit-stops). With the 2 McLarens starting on the dirty side of the track, their job will be very difficult.

Once the race starts, expect to see a procession, a la Bahrain.

First big breaking point results in Hamilton unleashing another half assed overtakes, this time on Vettel, promptly hitting him, while Webber, refusing to change his line crashes in to both of them. Button complains about something, Alonso doesn't do much and cruises to win the title, while Massa will be an embarrassment in the midfield. Legard will spout cobblers throughout and annoy everyone, especially Brundle.

In reality, it could be a procession, especially if Vettel stays ahead of Hammy. Legard will still annoy whatever the outcome.

Apart from Alonso winning the title the other thing I want is for Kobayashi to wake up and start being interesting again.

One thing leggard said to annoy me today

Along the lines of
"Once again vetted has put it on pole, that must be 10 time this year, extraordinary!"

Could it be because he has the fastest car by 0.5-1.0 second faster than the rest of the field???????

BBC better not get him back next year.

If Jenson jumps Alonso at the start, and Vettel and Hamilton take each other out - not only will Alonso win the title, but Button would leapfrog Hamilton in the championship.

Could you imagine Hamiltons mood if that happens :D
