Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010, Yas Island Marina Circuit - Race 19/19

God Eddie is an embarrassment. It's not about fault, DC just wants to know why you give him full marks for doing the only thing he could.. Aggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Well done to vettel...

Really hope EJ doesn't make it to next season, really can't stand the man... How he slaps bigger older more wiser people across the face, i really can't understand how they just stand there and don't say or do anything to the little patronizing weisel

Whatever we say about this season - imo it's been one of the best seasons i can remember since 1990ish, i have to say

THANK GOD FOR THE BBC!!! :D F1 without adverts  brundle's okay.. seems to be getting better with age, leggard so-so, EJ gets on my nerves by trying to be so controversial all the time but the driver vs team owner dynamic he has with DC is probably the most entertaining combination for the pundits. Jake Humphries has done a good job this year

i'd like the F1 forum to become a part of the normal broadcast next year - we only have one tv in this house (still) that has the red button but i guess that'll change with the switchover.. minor niggle

can't wait for next season.

Congratulations to Vettel. Red Bull deserved the double this season.

Ferrari, in my view, gifted it to them this race though. Dropping Alonso to cover Webber when it was obvious they'd be dropped in behind the early stoppers was the wrong call. And I have no idea why McLaren didn't wait a couple of laps to pit Lewis; any chance he had was lost to Kubica.

I can't see Webber challenging for another title, but Lewis, Vettel and Alonso all have a very good chance of winning at least one more in the coming years.

What a bunch of muppets you all look arguing on here and complaining about anything and everything. "Yeah he can stay" like you run the BBC.

F1 Highlights - Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel wins the Formula 1 world drivers' championship after leading from lights to flag while closest rival Fernando Alonso can only manage seventh.

Top three drivers - Abu Dhabi GP
Sebastian Vettel is speechless after winning the drivers' championship in the final race at Abu Dhabi and admits at the drivers press conference he was not sure he had won the championship when he crossed the line.

Fernando Alonso frustrated as title slips away
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso admits it was a frustrating race at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after his pit-stop left him down the field behind Renault's Vitaly Petrov and unable to defend his lead in the drivers' championship standings.

Webber downbeat after season end
Mark Webber says it will take a few weeks form him to come to terms with the end to his season after his eighth-place finish in Abu Dhabi means he finishes third in the drivers' standings behind team-mate Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari's Fernando Alonso.

The best driver won - Horner
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner tells the BBC team Sebastian Vettel deserved to win the drivers' world championship in the final race at Abu Dhabi.

Meh anti climax for me. Crash in the first lap and the rest fell into place. Would have loved to have a 4 way battle at the front but after the crash and early pitters getting in the middle, was basically a train till the end with some unimportant (i.e. nothing to do with the championship) overtaking. Didnt want Vettel to win but fair play, he didnt put a foot wrong and lets hope the ego is more in check next season though its Horners lies and attitude thats made a villian out of Vettel really which is quite ironic considering hes his biggest fan.

5 world champs on the grid next season now (assuming schumi stays and Kimi doesnt come back - which is how it looks now) which is great for the viewers. Hoping Renault and Merc are up there with the current top 3 and make it more challenging. Would hate for another car to be as dominant as the last 2 seasons (only the talent of Hammy and Alonso kept them in it, they werent completely off but Red Bull should have run away with it).

So much hype which didnt deliver for me at the final race, shame as the lead up was brilliant.

of course I posted one of them. It's not sore losser though. It's your man didn't win.

if people start posting he doesn't deserve it and the like, that's a different matter.
And the Tv thing is because of the very annoying finger more than anything else.
It's only "very annoying" because people are so anti-Vettel. I can't say it's ever bothered me in the slightest.

And really, if that's the sole reason people aren't watching the ceremonies, do you not think that's particularly petty of them?

Oh well, what's done is done. Personally, I thought this season has been brilliant, even if that race was dull. Here's to five world champions on the grid next season! :)

Any yet it was Webber who crashed out in the last race due to a driver error and Vettel stormed away with the win. They have all made mistakes over the year

They have all made mistakes but none as many as Vettel and he's had almost a second per lap advantage on almost everyone except his team mate.

Even last year when a car was fast enough to pressure Vettel he fell off the road. You shouldn't be under pressure when your cra is that much faster over the season.

Do you really think given 1 sec per lap Hamilton Button or Alonso would have fallen apart this season with a car fast enough for 10 poles was it for him and a few for Webber.

He's the fourth best driver in F1 when you consider those three I mentioned wouldn't have made such a drama out of this year and maybe even Kubica would have done better.

Alonso should be penalised for abusing the run off areas to try and get a better exit speed.
It was continual done in GP2 and if it wasnt allowed it would have been mentioned in the drivers briefings. You could argue that Hamilton/Massa should be penalised for taken out bollards that are there to define the extent of a corners apex

ps3ud0

yeah why aren't mclaren testing perelli. Surly any data how ever early is better than nothing. Or are they just using their test drivers?
