Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010, Yas Island Marina Circuit - Race 19/19

In fact, the full list of permutations can be found here:
http://www.formula1.com/news/features/2010/11/11509.html

Alonso (246 points) will be champion if:
- he finishes first or second
- he finishes third, fourth or fifth, and neither Webber nor Vettel win
- he finishes sixth, with Webber no higher than third and Vettel failing to win
- he finishes seventh or eighth, with Webber no higher than fourth and Vettel failing to win
- he finishes ninth, with Webber no higher than fifth and Vettel no higher than third
- he finishes 10th, with Webber no higher than sixth and Vettel no higher than third
- he fails to score, with Webber no higher than sixth, Vettel no higher than third and Hamilton failing to win
If no rivals score? Alonso is champion

Webber (238) will be champion if:
- he wins, with Alonso no higher than third
- he finishes second, with Alonso no higher than sixth and Vettel failing to win
- he finishes third, with Alonso no higher than seventh and Vettel failing to win
- he finishes fourth, with Alonso no higher than ninth and Vettel failing to win
- he finishes fifth, with Alonso no higher than tenth and Vettel failing to win
If no rivals score? Webber must finish fifth or higher to become champion

Vettel (231) will be champion if:
- he wins, with Alonso no higher than fifth
- he finishes second with Alonso no higher than ninth and Webber no higher than fifth
If no rivals score? Vettel must finish second or higher to become champion

Hamilton (222) will be champion if:
- he wins, with Alonso failing to score, Webber no higher than sixth and Vettel no higher than third.
If no rivals score? Hamilton must win to become champion

Deadlock: in theory, Alonso, Webber and Vettel could finish level on points at the top - a result of Vettel winning, Webber second and Alonso fifth in Abu Dhabi would give them 256 points apiece. Vettel and Alonso would have five wins each, two second places each and three third places each. Vettel would then be champion based on his three fourth places to Alonso’s two.

Yeah I just said to my mate that I reckoned Alonso will be taking it easy on the engines today. Still, going to be very tough for him if the McLarens are right up with the Red Bulls in pace.

1 hour of f1 racing a fortnite isnt enough :( i say up i to 3 hours!
Ah don't worry, with the way they're going, it'll be one race a week before long. :p

they should force a minimum laps in practise so we actually see some cars and not just drivers sat in the back of garages.
I never get why they don't go out on a bit of rain. They almost certainly won't use the inter/wet tyres on Sunday, but if they do, it might give them a good edge to see which parts of the track dry quicker.

Sebastian Vettel sets early Abu Dhabi pace
Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel set the pace in Friday's first practice session for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Live coverage of the first practice session from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Last season the Yas Marina Circuit debuted, this season it hosts the championship decider.

from the 2nd speed trap it looks like vettel is running less downforce then mclaren and is still faster on the twisty bit which is sector 3.

2nd split is the two straights so vettel is sitting pretty.

Ok first of all, the weather ... WTF, hail showers lol.

Knip will need to get her scarf and gloves on for her pre-race dance :p

I don't want the season to end :( It's been an epic season and I just hope Webber can do it. Then give the finger to RBR and sit at home with his feet up as the 2010 WDC. :)

I missed FP1 but will be watching (if my lecturer lets me) FP2.

Something interesting was mentioned this morning that if Alonso slips back to fifth place with Vettle ahead of Mark Webber on the final laps then Vettle would win the world championship.
Now say for instance that Alonso did this on purpose, which wouldn't surprise me at all being the sneaky little git he is, he could ruse the Red Bulls on the last lap and take forth place and the world championship. However, if the Red Bulls saw this then they would have to make a call on team orders to give Webber the title, team orders are banned as we know, and the stress on the last lap will be huge and I am wondering if we will have mistakes made. But I am sure these scenarios have been run over by the teams.
Whatever happens this weekend it is going to be fascination :)

P2 up n running.

I don't think we'll see any real top times from Alonso today, I bet the engine isn't even turned up till tomorrows practice, or whenever p3 is.

However - COMON WEBBER YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
