Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2011, Yas Marina Circuit - Race 18/19

0.009, it's nice to see button, seems to be getting better at qualifying this year, still not up there, but certainly better.

Stunning lap once again by Vet

Just hoped Vettel would start 3rd at least just to give it a good race tomorrow, No doubt he'll tear off into the distance again tomorrow bar any troubles with the car.

Yeah would be nice to see him battling but he'll pull out the +1 second needed to stop DRS as the others battle behind.

A) he's a great driver
B) they always hold back in qualiy

It is no surprise he got poll. Mclaren have looked stronger in fp many times this year, only to be beaten.

I think it's more the fact that he does always hold back and seems to always be able to turn it on with no mistakes that's so impressive. He truely is amazing in Qualifying.

How does he always manage to pull that lap out!

I don't think he did, all year in general for fastest lap Hamilton has 2-3 tenths on Button, the top guys usually find 2-3 tenths in the final run of qualifying and button/Vettel did, Hamilton had a poor middle sector, a not great first sector(i'm guessing on both from the times I saw) and a pretty awesome final sector as I believe he was 2+ tenths down on button end of sector 2.

If Hamilton had a good lap I think it would have been Hamilton, Vettel, button, which isn't standard but standard of late that Hamilton is closest to Vettel and the car is getting to the point where it can finally grab pole.

As always Vettel sandbagging a little bit in practice and closer in qualifying.

Lol, eddy was overwhelmed by Paul McCartney and I think he called him George at the end.

So what's the answer here, is Vettel's car faster than Webber's and the McLaren's, or is he simply a better driver? If Vettel was in the other Redbull or either of the McLarens, would he still pole and win the race tomorrow?
