Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2012, Yas Marina - Race 18/20

^I took the statement to mean the stopping issue and the incorrect amount of fuel as being separate incidents.

As much as he DID break the rules... you can't help but think they did it just to make the title race seem more interesting.

I'd rather Alonso get a 3rd championship than Vettel get a 3rd consecutive championship.

I'll wait to hear why Seb was underfueled before casting them as cheating; after all McLaren make a genuine mistake with Lewis in Spain earlier this season.

Hehehe.

If he does ram Alonso (and it is deemed to be on purpose (like what senna used to do)), he may receive a lengthy ban.

In all seriousness, Webber doesnt appear to like Vettel or in particular RBR's unequivocal support for Vettel. I doubt he would get himself involved with Alonso.

Alonso must try and get a podium tomorrow. Given McLaren's pace and the cars in front of him, this may not be easy. Vettel's development has made tomorrow's race interesting.

maybe alonso will fit loop activated launch control , mass dampeners , blackmail ferrari or have massa cause a safety car like he used to do with other team mates

alternatively he could avoid yellow flags like he used to
or did sitting crying in the fetal position against a wall for 5minutes make him think twice before doing stupid **** like that ever again ?

Alonso to get punted off and Hamilton to win, would at least close the gap.

Its unlikely but a pile up at the next race and even Hammy would be in with a title shout hahaha

Huh? They dished out the same punishment to Hamilton earlier in the year for the same problem?

Was it because they wanted to make the title race seem more interesting back then? You can make an argument as to whether or not FIA should change the rules to penalise the team rather than the individual in cases like these, a precedent was set earlier in the year. I see no problem with the penalty.

Especially as Bernie complained last year that Vettel won the championship too early in the season and he was worried that fans would lose interest. Add it to the suspiciously random tyres early in the season.

Hammy to win the title...come on dude...even the most ardent Hammy fan would admit that a miracle would be required for him to win the title.

The best hope of preventing Vettel winning the title again, is Alonso.

Dont be silly, its Vettel

no penalty

Charlie has left the stewards office for dinner...so that's it..nothing :(

You were saying? :p

Sooo....what, they shouldn't have punished him because he's in the title fight?

Can you explain exactly what your position is here? On the one hand, you post earlier on seemingly moaning that he won't get penalised for a rulebreak simply because he is who he is. Then when he's actually penalised, you say that you think he's being singled out because it'll tighten up the championship standings.

Have I got that right, or did I miss something? ;) God bless the OcUK Motorsport forum.....'cause no other bugger would! :o:p:D

Aaaaanyway, I might actually bother to watch tomorrow now. Either Vettel will slice through the field, which will be interesting to watch. Or he'll crash, which will also be interesting to watch. Either way, it's a win for the spectator who doesn't have a dog in this championship fight and a win for those who want to see Vettel really work for it. And since no-one wants to see him walk it, that's a win for everybody.

Does that mean that red bull lied about why it couldn't get back, had the lie accepted, then got caught out by the fuel tester?

It may well have been that they genuinely did have a fuel pickup problem.

But the cause of that may well have been that there wasn't any fuel left in the tank.

;)
