Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2012, Yas Marina - Race 18/20

Swings and roundabouts. Vettel got lucky with the SC this weekend, but he got boned by one in Valencia.

Its the same for everyone. Alonso had some luck at the start of the year when his rivals were busy tripping over each other.

I do find it interesting that suggesting Alonso should have some bad luck to spice up the championship earlier in the year got a barrage of abuse, yet its par for the course to wish doom and gloom on Vettel and then slate him if he does drive well.

What were Sky chatting on about when they kept saying all Vettel needs to do is score 15 points in Texas and he will win the championship. Surely he has to win 15 more than Alonso?

Eddie Jordon's pre race predication that Vettel would come 5th was on target. As everyone else has said he got extremely lucky. As Murray Walker would say "F1 is IF backwards."

There were a lot of "IF" incidents which gave Vettel his position on the day. With the Safety Car, DNF's, Dubai's smooth track which degrades the tyres less and use of DRS any top team driver with a good strategy could have done what Vettel did.

Vettel gained 10 KPH with the gear ratio changes. Williams is a rocket in a straight line!

EJs pre race prediction was 8th.

I enjoyed the whole race & was well pleased to see Kimi win, His comments were awesome. Shame Lewis didn't get the win though as he for want of a better word pawned everybody over the weekend.
As for Vettel I think he did unbelievably well no matter how much luck came his way.

Was in stitches at this :D :D
