Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2012, Yas Marina - Race 18/20

lol, what a pair of plonkers.... "its not their first language".... lol, yeah DC! They speak better English than half of London!

In the forum DC said he added that bit since he could hear the race director saying 'oohhhh noooooo' in his earpiece when Vettel dropped the f-bomb. Though to be truthful it's only Vettel that speaks better English, Kimi speaks mumble. :p

Kimi is playing this persona now. He can tell the crowd and fans are warming to this 'character' and is going to milk it. The whole uninterested emotionless win is a front. He was never that bad before. It become kinda 'cool'.

I don't think Kimi is playing this at all, it's the media that keep highlighting how he is, and playing into it to make something out of what was very little when he was last in F1.

All this anti Vettel stuff is quite lol worthy.

I did write a few paragraphs but I decided not to as it just feeds the furnace of rubbish that seems to occur in these threads.

Red Bull seem to get a lot of hate for doing something different. If people didn't try things a different way we wouldn't be where we are now... People have got to remember that the point of F1 from a teams perspective is to do as well as possible and hope to win the constructors championship. Red Bull's strategy is get on pole and cruise all the way to the end. If won by getting over takes they would do that.

If you compare that to other top drivers that start from the back and then how far they get to by end of the race (ignoring any safety cars/steward intervention) I bet they werent 73 seconds from the lead ;)

Though at end of day Vettel got himself to the right place at the right time, but to say the safety cars didnt play a significant part in him getting on the podium is kinda stupid

ps3ud0

Vettel was also "lucky" with Massa / Webber incident helping him gain positions and LH retiring as well as Hulkenburg

Im not knocking his performance, but those would all have been significant obsticles to pass had SV needed to on the track

He was Very lucky there were so many top of the grid retirements /accidents which assisted (without considering the safety cars aiding as well)

The funny thing in all of this...
The Mclarens can ironically help Alonso, Mclaren maintains that their form will remain for the next 2 races. If that is the case that will be absolutely pivotal in keeping Alonsos championship hopes alive.

Im not sure that will make that much difference with so few races left.

Alonso needs to make a huge dent in that 10 point gap at the next race - or Vettel can just trundle along at the back of the top ten in Brazil to secure the title

It will come down to who can set up their car the quickest on the new track with no previous data to go back through. Im not convinced Ferrari can do this well enough (on an inferior car no less) even if they do have more parts to add - and its possible the new parts could make the car more difficult to set up optimally

Its more a case of delaying the inevitable I guess.
The way it is at the moment is this...

USA - The Ferraris will not be competitive here, Mclarens think they will have the best car, Vettel will be in the mix but chances are possibly behind the Mclarens so estimated position of P3 (15pts). Assuming the above, Alonso can expect to finish 4th (12pts). Vettel increases lead to 13pts

Brazil - This is where Ferrari believe they could be strong (although I cant see it). If so, then it really will depend on where the Maccas are.
Also dont forget the wildcard (Webber), who may just yet spring a surprise since thusfar hes shown hes not going to yield at all to Vettel.

So many if if ifs....... damn it I cant wait 2 weeks till USA!!!

Vettel looked like he was just trying to upstage Kimi while Alonso looked on uninterested in either of them.

Kimi said **** and Vettel tried to raise him with a ****. If it carries on the FIA will start fining teams/drivers and rightly so. I wouldn't want my son hearing that on a sunday afternoon.

Yeah he is putting it all on, its an act, of course it is. Its going be Kimi mania with this new persona he invented. Jesus wept.

I missed this, what happened?

Vettel after swearing and getting rapped for it by DC saying something about English not being his mothertongue, then picked up the fizzy drink and poured a small amount over DC and his suit jacket. He didn't look impressed at all. Vettel noticed and then backed down.

Of course he is, he knows very well how popular his dead pan answers have become and it's a far cry from how he was at Mclaren or even Ferrari. He's obviously not the only guy with a different public front but he knows excatly what he's doing.

It is Kimi mania, you only had to hear the crowd, everyone I know now loves the guy. Where before he was ultra fast but just a Grey boring Mclaren reboot/replug in of Mika.

He's becoming massively popular.
