Well just caught the pit lane stuff at the end as had to go out.

Overally happy with this season, its been interesting and seeing the snippets of races etc makes me realize i do really enjoy f1.

Have been to spa 5 years in a row and will probably go again next year.

Its not always great racing but theres always something happening.

Does Nico deserve the world championship, perhaps, its a shame reliability has changed the championship result, however I have grown to like Nico over this season, I mean i'm not a fan or anything but he has driven as well as he can when it counts, had some blistering 1 lap pace when Lewis was struggling and has won some good races. So I say fair play to him, what a great feeling it must be for him

Hopefully next year will be fun with more cars fighting for the win.

I think Lewis will come out stronger than ever myself, but hopefully redbull, ferrari etc will come to the mix that will make some great racing if you look at the drivers

Lewis
Nico
Max Ves
Daniel Ric
Vettel

And maybe Kimi.

If them boys are all fighting for wins that will be great

"I will celebrate hard now becasue in a couple of days even I will have to admit, everyone knows who was the better driver."

That may or may not be 100% accurate.

I honestly don't think you'd find many people who genuinely believe Rosberg is a better driver.

I was thinking earlier this is what it'd be like if Barrichello won the title at Ferrari.

Nico isn't as fast as Hamilton; but he can, on his day, beat him in a fair fight. I'd have rather Hamilton won - because he's the better driver - but I don't think Rosberg is the worst driver to have ever won the Championship and I don't think he's really that undeserving. He's come back from two defeats by Hamilton, held his nerve, and delivered a solid season's racing. Yes, he's lucky to have won, but Hamilton lost as much because of his own mistakes and those days he couldn't match Rosberg as he did because he got worse luck.

Rosberg is a decent driver. I don't think there's many on the grid that could have beaten Hamilton fair-and-square at as many races as Rosberg did in the same car. He's not going to be remembered as a lasting great but I'd put him at a Button-like level.

No doubt Verstappen shows some promising potential but I think it's way to early to call him one of the current best. Saying that it will be interesting to see the order next year if Red Bull and Ferrari can catch Mercedes.

Something like,

1. HAM
2. RIC/VES/RAI
3. RIC/VES/RAI
4. RIC/VES/RAI
5. VET
6. ROS

:p

was anything mentioned as to why rosberg didnt try to overtake Hamilton? Ham was lapping 2+ seconds slower but Rosberg just sat behind him the whole time.

because he was driving to win the championship and not taking needless risks, which is what he was doing since Malaysia. the smart approach. by the way Hamilton did the same last year when rosberg won the last 3 races.

it's always like that when you lead a championship, you don't take risks to lose it needlessly, same as in a race when 1st place drivers manage the gap not to push the car past the limit.

Probably two reasons: (1) he didn't think it was worth the risk, and (2) he knew that Hamilton had buckets more pace he could employ if Rosberg tried to pass him.

I thought the last few races have shown intelligence and maturity from Rosberg; no point risking everything when you can sit back and win the championship. It was that kind of thinking that's helped him win this year. He's taken what he can from the races rather than taking risks for small gains. It doesn't make him the most likeable or exciting racer to watch but I think it's a mindset worth respect. How many times have we seen Hamilton, in contrast, make foolish moves that have cost him in the long run?

I thought that of him today, when he sat in third behind ves

He initially tried to pass but then thought it was to much risk so sat behind him, not the end of the world when he knew ves had to pit as well as he could see Lewis a few seconds ahead slowing the pack down. He had no reason to make any hasty moves until told. Very mature drive
