This race? It would need to be taken at the next session (quali) is my understanding.

edit: advantage Lewis. That RB still looks like it’s not switching on the tyres like it needs.

In this instance, I think Red Bull are right: it's not cool to use footage of a major crash which had the driver airlifted to hospital as a "Merry Christmas" message. It's like that time F1 posted a list of 5 "feel-good" moments from one of the tracks and two of them were crashes. No cool, guys.

Yep I was at DHL when it made the blunder of using the Bianchi crash on social media.

Pirelli put the minimum tyres pressures up overnight. Up to 23psi for fronts and 21psi for rears.

Increased tyre pressures has hurt Merc in the past, but it’s causing drivers to overheat the rears in this session.

Why don’t they just fix the damn kerbs. Grind them flat if they’re causing issues… why put up the pressures for all drivers? Having more air means nothing if the tyres get shredded on the kerbs :o

Normally lower pressures would generate more heat, unless the higher pressures are causing more sliding.

Max crying about no grip. Sounds like the pressure is getting to him.

The tyre pressure getting to him ;)

I don't actually believe what some people call pressure.

That's a big issue with this pit lane exit. Feedd directly into the fast lane on the track.

Yea I thought they are normally designed to put out on the non-racing line. I guess it will always be worse in non-race conditions as in race conditions LH would have been accelerating hard on pit exit so the speed difference wouldn’t have been as big, but not a great design.

Verstappen on Hamilton from a Dutch interview;

Do you think Hamilton is afraid of you?

“He will never admit that. At least I'm not afraid of him. Yeah, I think I'll make him nervous if he sees me in his mirrors. He's a different driver than me, less aggressive. He doesn't know how to race like I do. I can't blame him for that either, because he was never able to learn that like I did from my father."

Quality

LMAO "race like I do" . What brake late with absolutely no hope of making the corner?

Arguably, Hamilton did use to race like Max does. It's just instead of threatening to headbutt people who pointed out he kept on crashing, he learnt from it and he's modified his style to one that wins out over the course of a season. A corner is not the championship.

Oh I agree Hamilton was no (and still is no) Saint. You can't be at this level to stay competitive. Max takes it too far for me though and goes far beyond what could be considered sporting.

Hamilton has matured enough to be quite good at owning up to his own mistakes too (ie wiping put Albon a few years ago).

Lewis can recognise when he has crossed the line I think. Max can't (no pun intended)

Max still thinks that there was nothing wrong with the move in Brasil because he was confused how he was penalised at Jeddah for the "same move". Every time I've heard him defend that move he will respond by saying that both cars went off track whatstheproblem?

I'd warm to him if he would bloody admit that there's being aggressive (and fair) by keeping your car on the track and there's dirty driving (forcing both cars off the track).

The "who will win the WDC" Poll has now been deleted prior to quali.

Interesting FP3, let's see what the cooler conditions of quali bring. It's a tough call who's going to be on top, but seeing Honda engines up there hopefully means the power deficit is moot here leaving the chassis and driver skill as being the deciding factor.

Hope it's a clean fair end to an epic 2021 season, absolutely had me on the sofa's edge all the way.
