Fair play to Max and RBR, great lap and teamwork.

With that said I don’t agree with giving your teammate a tow, I think those rules need a rethink.

I think it would be difficult to enforce. It is a team sport at the end of the day and Merc could have done the same if they thought it would benefit.

I think Mercedes have better race pace.

True but I feel it should all be about the driver during qualifying.

It’s risky for the first corner. Beyond that I think the straight line speed and DRS would allow the places to be made, but the worst outcome would be to take damage and lack the pace. Really tough call, but as this engine has only had 1 race I would keep it and the position I think (I will now get proved wrong by a swap and LH cruising to victory!!)
 
RBR much faster. Will be interesting in terms of race pace. Mercedes I think got lucky Verstappen flat spotted the tyre.
 
Anyone got the speed trap results?

I saw 327km/h for both RB. Lewis was 335km/h in the practice sessions but seemed to be lower than that in qualifying. I never saw his trap speed though.
 
Hamilton will let Max go on the first corner - no chance he's running side by side with him.

stay within 3 or 4 seconds, go long as possible and then chase him down at the end of the race....

Yep. Part of me wonders if he's quite happy with the situation.

Starting first with Max behind means it's completely out of his hands at the first corner. Max can just make a "mistake" and pile into him. This way he is in control, and with the differeing tyre strategies, he could even leapfrog him I'm the pits.

Lando's already said he doesn't want to get involved. If there is a clear option to take the place he will but he won't get "stuck in"

Puts him in the middle of the pack which could be an even more dangerous place to be.

2nd with Norris behind is likely the safest place for him to be he can see Max , and it's unlikely Norris is going to risk getting involved/taking either contender out.
