Hamilton will let Max go on the first corner - no chance he's running side by side with him.

stay within 3 or 4 seconds, go long as possible and then chase him down at the end of the race....

It’s probably the safest option. Wait til max pits, bang in some decent times and overtake him in the stops. Depends on their race pace.

Lewis may have the inside into turn 1 and can just do a Max and push him off the track. Oh no wait...Max won't yield so it would end the champ there and then when they both DNF.
I think Lewis has lost this now due to his weak team mate. If Bottas was up in the top 4, it changes everything. By the first pitstop for Redbull, Bottas will be 30 seconds back affecting nothing.

Tomorrow will be fascinating.

If it wasn't for Max's slip up in the last race in qualifying he likely would have beaten Lewis to pole then too. However race pace was a different story. Did he optimise qualifying set up again, with Mercedes prioritising the race?

so? Lewis doesn't give it much thought so why should anyone else? You cant expect regional crowds to have the same reactions to the drivers. The world doesnt work like that.
Not saying I agree with Lewis getting bood, just not sure why its becoming the norm last few races? He mentioned it after qualifying, so it must be on his mind?

Would Lewis on pole really have mattered with Max on softs and Lewis on mediums at the start?

Max likely would have been loads faster for the first few laps, and either would have got past Lewis or crashed into him.

I really do wonder if Merc intended for 2nd for Lewis. It just seems the much better place considering the tyre differences.

Something is amiss as Merc or Lewis dont seem too bothered. Bottas should be ashamed though..

Nah, starting P1 especially with not much distance to the first corner is always a bonus here.

With a rampant Max on soft tyres behind him who can take them both out and still win?

That just seems like a recipe for disaster. With the tyre difference, starting 2nd and keeping behind Max whilst he is on the softs seems optimal (or at least the less risk with still a good chance of beating Max during the race on strategy etc)

Especially if he can save those mediums and then hammer in some times or even wait for a possible safety car.

Well we'll find out tomorrow.

Maybe this is the plan :D

yep. If they were both on the softs at the start then I think Lewis probably would have still wanted to be P1. With the differing tyre strategies, being on the mediums with Max on the softs behind at the start was going to end in tears.
