Abu Dhabi Prix 2015, Yas Marina - Race 19/19

15 laps at a push.

hehe, Ted and his brilliant analysis. "These super softs do 15 laps maximum, but maybe you can do 18".....

Reality is, they can do any real distance, it's distance vs time.

Seriously why don't people get it, same tire doing a shorter stint will be faster(or capable of being so) for every lap of the stint. Even Brundle is banging on about how it only makes sense for super softs, it would be better on supersofts and probably these last couple of laps push it that way, but softs would still give him a huge margin to push VERY hard to the end.

We've seen this situation before where you push 15 laps on the supersofts, gain a load of time but run out of life just as you catch up.

Looks like Hamilton will be out in front of Raikkonen, but not if they keep him out for much longer. Lost a 1.3 to Rosberg that lap and a full second to Raikkonen.

Dear lord, doing 10 laps less means you can push the softs MUCH harder than Rosberg can, he'll be able to be half a second a lap faster minimum, probably closer to a second.

They might go supersofts, you might want Rosberg to think you are less of a threat so he pushes less now as well... though with Merc tactics that is less likely.

Rosberg's tires are going to be as slow as Hamilton's are now at the end of the race while Hamilton can push extra hard and never run out of tire life.

Hamilton now losing 2 seconds a lap. Lost 2.3 against Raikkonen.

Raikkonen now only 28s behind Hamilton. Rapidly heading towards Hamilton coming out 3rd.
