Wow, soft tyres and 15 seconds back.

I'd like to see anyone find a way to justify that other than it being to keep Rosberg happy.

100% about keeping poor old Rosberg safe. Has to be. The only other option is Mercedes are staffed by retards.
 
I don't think he could have stayed out and kept Rosberg behind him, but I don't understand why they didn't put him on the faster tyre for the final short stint…
 
Oh look, Hamilton just went over a second faster than Vettel who is on supersofts, and an amazing lap, and he's gained I think over two seconds already, he was 13.xx just out of the pits.

He's going to have amazing tires compared to Rosberg at the end. AS F1 stands today, same car the only significant chance to overtake is MUCH better grip out of corners onto a passing straight, Hamilton will have that at the end of the race.

He only has 13 laps so can maintain this pace, rosberg will be on 25 lap old tires at the end of the race.

I do think they screwed up and went 2 laps too late in the end, but it's a good general strategy that people simply aren't understanding, they didn't get the pit on the right lap, might still work, would have been MUCH easier if he pitted on lap 39-40.
