Abu Qatada

OMG wont you please think of the over politically correct far lefty labour generation?

Stop being racist, this guy is obviously innocent now. He has never broken the law in the UK and sending him back would be a violation of his human rights!

We have to keep him in Britain for his own safety and good will, and provide him with counselling and nanny state rehabilitation which will surely fix him 100%!

Plus theres no such thing as Al Queda! Its all lies made up by the evil government!!!

... /satire.

he will appeal, taking months costing thousands, the joke is that he's probably got legal aid

im all for human rights but this guy needs deporting

All religions have extremists. Islamic ones are probably the most outspoken and very much in the 'public eye' at the moment

Its their own fault really because they stupidly think that they have the freedom of expression to publicly express their extremist views in the UK.

All it does is make them look like idiots and creates a repulsive hatred towards their backward barbaric desert culture that they are trying to unsuccessfully promote in the western world.

OldCoals, partially, but I think it also highlights a problem with us being lenient to the extent that we knowingly harbour criminals but are unwilling to have them punished. I feel like the human rights in the destination country, too, are pretty much irrelevant, although I think it's commendable that our government chose to keep him here on the basis of his human rights; it gives me some faith that politicians have emotions.

The UK government didn't choose to keep him here, they were planning on deporting him but he appealed to the European Court of Human Rights ruled it could not happen.

Can't wait for that piece of sputum to sit rotting in a Jordanian sweatbox. Not just for his support of terrorism and the slaughter of innocents, but every time I see his damn name I think of the Lion King.
