I was involved in a similar sort of accidet at around the same speeds but was hit by a Fiat Ducato LWB van.
I got checked out at the hospital as I like sports and didn't want any future regrets. They confirmed that I didn't have whiplash (I didn't think I had it but never have so not sure what to expect) but lots of bad bruising/swelling.
Every morning for the next 4-5weeks I would wake up with my upper body all stiff and ached for around an hour until it seemed to loosen up.
My car ended up as a Cat-B write off as the chassis was badly twisted.
I claimed for the cost of the car and my bruising. I ended up with the amount I wanted for the car and also around £1500 for my injuries/incurred costs (around 50.50 split). Incurred costs as the guy who hit me wouldn't declare his insurer to me so I ended up getting insured on mums car for the months that this went on, she has woman's insurance so to add a bloke (i.e. me!) cost loads! Plus various admin. fees.
So i picked up a couple of hundred for the injuries. I would much rather still have my Ghia X today, no injuries and worst of all, a LOT of hassle, 20-30letters hours on the phone etc... Helphire couldn't help me as the guy had no insurance records (turned out it was a trade policy).
Got there in the end but damn it takes a lot of work and time!
If I can advise you further let me know, hope you are all OK mate!
