Yeah. I mean I could understand a single issue, the number of issues with the backlighting is pretty ridiculous, especially for the price.

Just have to hope nothing more goes wrong.

I got a reply for my RMA, and they've sent me the details. Suppose we'll just have to see how it goes from here.

Wow i must have the worst luck on the planet lol....

DHL just picked up my G24, and literally 2 mins after that, my spare monitor (Belinea 102035W) died....

Of all the time its had to die, it chooses now....

Im looking to order one of these at the end of the month, i just hope my ATI HIS 4850HD 512mb gfx card can make the best of it xD - would be a shame otherwise lol.

Anyone used one of these with a 4850?

i would have thought logue's 8800gts would be a rough comparison? i guess the 4850 would be better tho. Im running a 4870 1gb with the monitor, runs cod 5 maxxed out at 1920 x 1200 atleast, same with cod 4. Fps hasnt dropped below 60 so far on cod which is nice

i can run pretty much every game out maxed at 1920x1200 (except farcry2 etc) and get at least 40-60fps.

I don't think anyone is having all that much luck when these monitors are involved.

Maybe it's the colour.

Jeez loque, sorry to hear about your monitor dying.

They certainly are not a top-class monitor, but still a vast improvement over my older monitor tbh. The colours are gorgeous and so vibrant and was 130 euros cheaper than buying it in euros as the pound:euro was nearly 1:1 at the time, so all in all i cant complain (yet)

That stuck pixel annoys me though. I tried a software fix but no joy. other people say get a damp cloth and a blunt pen and press against it and then turn monitor on, but man that sounds drastic!

Defo worth trying that Vicious. It is maybe 3 inches up from the bottom middle of the screen so its no biggie really, just a little annoyance. ill give it a while and see if it goes by itself. Good to know it sorted itself out on your screen though. cheers

Ive just ordered the last B grade Acer G24, I hope to god that it isnt hissing when i get it or it has a horrible bleeding, just want it to work. I know its B grade but i wont mind if its B grade cos the cables and CD are missing or sumit, just want the monitor to be ok lol.

Will let you tommorow how it is, hopefully upload some pics as well.

Which fault did yours have, was it the hissing or the bleeding? So hope mine doesnt have either.

If i do have to RMA it how long to acer usually take?

got one of these monitors as well, gotta say i'm happy with it. No hissing but do have a bit of bleed(when in bios loadup) but cant see it at all when in windows.
Have found calobration really hard to get right, turned brightness all the way down as its way too bright.
Also movies dont look to good but dont know if its monitor or my GPU....games look pure class though

awww at the momant i want one of these but im afraid of getting one.
Due to these backlight issues

and at the momant the blue and orange ones are on the this week only deal...

im not sure whether to get one or not

The jury is out on the G24 but in my case its going to come back with a non-guilty verdict

It is classed as a gaming monitor so in that respect it does the job quiet admirably. COD4 looks so much better on the G24 than my old TN.

Does exactly what it says on the tin

On boot the backlight bleed is bad allright and for a while when i was watching a 1080p movie i could hardly see when it was on a dark part of the movie, but i have messed about and it is better but not great. Looking at some star trek shows in the last couple of weeks and it has two black bars at each side(only 170mb) and i cannot notice much bleed at all.

PC format said that though in their review a while back so i was expecting it (bad blacks). As i game and browse and only watch the odd movie im not too pushed tbh.
