Acer Nitro XV273KP - 4K 120/144Hz G-sync Compatable certified

if you click into https://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/standard-warranty then it shows monitors at a min of 2 year warranty, nowhere does it show 1 year for a monitor, only on the XV273K page which refers to the Acer Standard Warranty

The Acer Standard Warranty page then shows monitors as the following;

Consumer (CZ/D/E/ED/FT/G/GD/H/K/KA1/P/R/S/T/X/XB/XF/XG/XR/XZ/Z-series)

so no XV listed, but it does have X and XB showing as a 2 year warranty, maybe this is an oversight issue?

The X27 listed at £2200 shows 1 year on its product page, but if you click into the standard warranty as shown above, its a two year warranty for "X" models

yeah I dont believe it to be correct though, the X27 shows as 1 year on acers site also, as I pointed out above, its then listed as 2 years in their terms, check my last post above your reply

good news, i order today and AO have dispatched already and i have DPD tracking. so should have the screen tomorrow. i plan on also redoing the thermal compound on my GPU at some point as well to maximise cooling now ill be working it 100% more with VRR :)

Another selling point of the XV273K is that you can run it at 1440p/144hz with just the 1 DP cable, if you don't fancy going 4K/120hz.

I wouldn't think 24fps was worth the drop in resolution, I'm not sure I would even notice 144 v 120.

Edit: actually, you mean if the GPU can't push 4k @ 120Hz don't you? Which will probably be very much the case until more powerful GPUs are available.

I currently own the Acer X34P which I can still return for a refund - is it worth getting the XV273KP instead? It's a big price jump from what I paid for the X34P, but it's more futureproof right?

just a quick note to so say mine arrived today :) all unpacked and initial impressions v good. no dead pixels and came straight up at 4k 120 VRR with the latest drivers. have not tried games yet but photos and video looks v bright and vibrant. compared to my old HASRO the colour temp is different but I likely much more accurate. Win 10 picked up 150% scaling right away and seems ok so far.

good service for AO, less than 24 hours for delivery and everything as expected. would have gone OCuk though if they had it in stock.... ;)

took some pix as i went so ill sort them tomorrow and see which ones are presentable.

black levels when at full brightness is going to be slightly noticeable I think, but I'm sure when adjusted it will be fine.

has a built in ambient sensor with a few options so ill have a play with that as well, or just find where i like the brightness / set presets.

OSD seems fine so far. also was not expecting a nice built in down facing light as well, can be set to 7 or 8 colours and brightness adjusted or turned off.

Netflix 4k sub (from current HD) may be the next requirement and then a few games to test out over the next few days.

No HDMI 2.1 is an issue for longevity, and I am not enthused about a 1 year warranty.

I doubt many would be able to run newer games as 4K 120fps let along a stable 144fps anyway.

Don't forget that many people play older games and even newer games might achieve 120 fps on lower details - useful if you're playing a sniper online, for instance.

But I want to hear more about this monitor.

but you can wait until tomorrow or next year for the next generation of tech, monitors get delayed heavily usually anyway. if in the market for a new monitor now, no point waiting unless something is imminent and that isn't HDMI 2.1 as far as I am aware

interested in other buyers reviews of the xv273k also

You are absolutely correct. I'm also interested in how this fares at the end of a 3m DP cable. Anyone tried it on a 5m cable? Since I already have a 4K monitor and a 1440UW, I'm not going to have enough DP ports for 144 Hz.
