Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

Badass, great review as always. Thanks for being so quick with the review. Look's like this is now the #1 gaming monitor.

no problem, i know how excited people (including me!) were to see how this monitor performed. hopefully no one will feel disappointed :)

I want to hold out until the 34" curved versions of these panels come out but after reading that review

I don't know how long ill be able to hold of just replacing my 27" 1080p 144hz with this one, and keep my 3 monitor setup

it's here, the review of the Acer XB270HU now online. Don't forget to donate if you like the review and our site!: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_xb270hu.htm

Looking at this myself, if it is as good as I think it is I will buy it, they helped me choose my current monitor which I love. Not sure if I am willing to put in the full asking price though :/

Would be nice if they offered it without G-Sync, hopefully this will pave the way for more 144hz 1440p monitors.

just put one in my basket and comes to £700 - I just can't come to terms with that just yet - may play the waiting game and see if we get any better deals

It is far to much for a monitor imo, I think it is worth £450-£500 max, hopefully the swift might drop which could push this price down?

Oh Badass I wanted to ask, did you see any blue-light filter options on this bad boy?

No there aren't any on this model. I know Acer are investing in that tech on other new screens in their range but it's not on this model. Could always adjust rgb to give a nice warm setting and reduce blue spectral output that way :)

Thanks. I just got a ViewSonic VA here using it as a web browsing display and I really like the blue-light filter option it has. Helps keep the stress off the old MARK I Eyeball.

Thanks for the review badass. So it looks like ips 144hz is a very viable reality. As a swift owner I'm going to wait for the 34 inch super wides, possibly curved before I consider upgrading.

Question though - what's the chances of a 144hz VA rather than ips type gsync panel with a high contrast ratio and deep blacks coming out? Something like the latest samsung 34 inch curved superwide, but 144hz and gsync? Will VA introduce issues like input lag etc, more than ips?
