Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

No real need for software. You could just create a couple of colour blocks in paint and view those full screen. Although not sure if it's a good idea to go looking for defects like that. If you don't see any issues during actual use, why worry about it? :)

Ouch, how noticeable is that during general use? :(

Mine has just began its journey from Italy, may get here on Saturday.

Very noticeable. Most of them are right in the middle, one of them is actually bigger than one pixel, I guess 4-5 at the same place are stuck. This big one is right in the middle and is just black (so clearly visible in windows, browsing, explorer, etc).

Ugh. That's awful, unlucky bud. Sending it straight back I presume?

Yeah, already contacted the store.

I just fired a game, and OMG. I'm coming from an overclocked Qnix (120Hz) and the difference is night and day. Everything is far more fluid, colours are much better and overall it's awesome. I just wish Acer had done better QA on these monitor. Hopefully the next one won't have these issues though :D

Have you tried both massaging the pixels and running a pixel de-stuck software? It's worth a shot before you send it back. Has helped me on previous monitors.

Mine showed up today and after few hours of game play I'm simply blown away by it, almost speechless the difference it makes over my old Benq xl2420t and easy worth every penny of the sub 600 i paid for it. After quick input of TFT central calibrated settings its cherry on the cake. Been over the screen with fine tooth comb and found zero dead pixels, smudges and not noticed any BLB as of yet. Will post some pictures later.

Doesn't look like dead pixels to me. Either something trapped under the coating (dust maybe) or a Panel defect / smudge

Yeah. Either way, it's super annoying and the result of poor QA... Really unacceptable for a monitor of this price range. The store was very reasonable though, they quickly accepted the fault and covered the return costs across Europe as well. Hopefully my replacement will be fine.

yeah worth returning certainly, just didn't want people to assume it had a load of dead pixels as having 11 dead pixels would be very rare
