Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

They clarified all gaming range are in fact 2 years and it's return to base.

So finally after weeks of no clarification or a proper answer, it IS what I discovered. Finally the OCUK product details page are corrected yet some of us bought the Acer monitors under the pretence that it was onsite warranty and ended up with a load of hassle. Gee thanks OCUK great Customer Service there.

Unless I'm missing something, this seems like the wrong option. That option covers Desktop + Monitor, it's possible to get the Monitor only options much more cheaply.

Do these cover excess backlight bleed and dead pixels? Is it still the same 14 pixel policy?

There don't seem to be any additional warranty specifics in the T&Cs (at least none that apply to Monitors), so one would assume that this is merely a service level upgrade (RTB to On-site), with the normal warranty terms applying otherwise.

Been looking at a few reviews and looking to upgrade to this monitor, Any ideas if there is a difference between UK and EU stock?, apart from the plug I assume they are the same?
Most of EU etailers seem to offer a dead pixel check before posting out, for a cost which I don't mind paying.

Looking forward to seeing what you guys think tomorrow when it arrives - let us know :)

It is still showing up as ETA: Overdue on the OcUK website.

Here's hoping OcUK receive the batch today and start shipping them out for delivery to the customer on Tuesday.

I can't wait to get hold of mine. Fingers crossed there is no issues with the one I get when I receive it like pretty bad dead or stuck pixels or backlight bleed.

So is there any point in getting the extra warranty, if we get that do we still have to pay to post it back to them? And how many times are we covered if we get multiple monitors with problems, and if it's got 15 dead pixels will they give you a replacement if the policy is a ridiculous 16?

My understanding at least of the paid postage is that if you get the extensions (ie. 3, 4 or 5 years) to RTB, then you'd still need to pay to return. If you buy the 3 year on-site upgrade then they would come to you and there wouldn't be a charge. Don't quote me on that though. I would discourage anyone from using the links that varkanoid originally posted though and use mine instead, as if you buy the Desktop + Monitor warranty he linked and later need to claim on it, Acer might pull some funny business about you buying the wrong cover and not honour it or something. I assume this could only happen if you were trying to use RTB or claim outside of your statutory 2 years though.

Yeah use Peter UK links I flamingoed up on that one. Didnt realise it was inc Desktop.

Just to clarify return to base warranty you DO NOT need to pay for return postage. Acer send you out of date instructions for you to contact UPS and they collect it free after a bit of hassle booking the collection.

see here for the instruction of sending the monitor back under RTB warranty http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27813712&postcount=114

Okay that's cool, that's how it should be done (apart from the outdated instructions of course!).

If I order one of these monitors and find dead pixel(s) and decide to return the monitor under the distant selling act (or whatever the revised name is). How would I send it back and at what cost roughly? Can overclockers arrange to pick it up through one of there couriers or has this got to be done by myself?
