This is correct and anyone who is unhappy with the monitor they can return it under CCR.
What we are making clear is that IPS panels do suffer IPS glow and unfortunately now also seem to feature minor backlight bleed as standard of which does not bother some users but to some is un-acceptable. Of course which we will take back, but its not a fault, so what we won't do is keep replacing monitors for minor backlight bleed but an IPS with perfect blacks does not exist. Is it acceptable, well every end-user will have a different tolerance to what they deem acceptable, but simple facts are for whatever reason IPS panels do emit more of a glow and seem more prone to bleed issues. OcUK can't do anything about, we do not manufacturer the panel, all we can do is ensure our customers are looked after which is something we've being in discussions with Acer today on should anyone get a display with high amounts of bleed, hence why some customers have had an email who had an issue, because OcUK stepped in because customer is King.
We are being realistic and informing customers that finding an IPS nowadays with perfect deep blacks and zero backlight bleed seems more or less impossible, accept for maybe a class 1 display, which tend to be insane money, typically in the region of £1500-£3000 depending on size, NEC seem to be the only ones to have that nailed. My LG UC97 has backlight bleed but I can only see it in the corners with all the lights out on a black background, I never sit in the dark with my monitor on plus it is pretty bad for your eyes anyway to do so, certainly hurts mine. For how I use the monitor it is brilliant and suits my needs well. Unfortunately there is simply no perfect panel that does everything amazing.
To just keep swapping out monitors for a customer in the hope of finding one with perfect blacks and no bleed is simply miss-leading and would just be stressful to the customer.
Of course however anyone with extreme backlight bleed, it does happen we do class as a fault.
