Acer XB270HU - Worlds First IPS, 1440p, 144hz, Gsync

Guys i'm sending mine back it's not for me. After sleeping on the idea i'm going back to my old faithful. Quick question though, im reading the 14 day 14 Days / Satisfaction Guaranteed FAQ and it states "Please package the goods properly and ship them in a separate outer box" however when I got the monitor all it was in was it's original box. Surely we don't now have to go out and buy a box because we weren't supplied one in the first place?!

That's for when there is an outer packaging. Just send it back the way you got it.

Wrap it in a bin liner (Bag), mine was sent to me in its original box as well.
I intend to send it back in a bin liner :)

I sent a webnote last night asking for a RMA and had an email today that I can't send it back to OC, I have to deal with Acer, it's been 1 day of the 14. This is crap.

I got bleed the size of my fist in the bottom right which I might add I can see even on a lighter background and some of these photos show monitors that are fine, if your not going to replace my monitor I want a refund.

Phone them. or post in the customer services section.

and so it starts.......

Just got a letter this morning that the relevant authority I wrote to complaining about Acer and their support service is going to be followed up with an investigation into all parties concerned including the seller and the third party repair companies so I am not going to comment any further for legal reasons.

Good luck guys.

Upset to hear about back light bleed on these. I need to wait a while to get one. Doubt later panels will be any better. It's a lot of money to have issues

Sending mine back, was actually really nice in terms of backlight bleed, almost none, but a 1.5mm or so long line of dead pixels right in the middle of the bottom left quadrant is enough to spoil it. :(

Did you ask for a replacement or a refund? I was under the impression we were guaranteed a refund under the 14 Days / Satisfaction Guaranteed policy? Not sure about replacements though. If it applies to the refund also this is terrible.

Such a depressing read this. I feel sorry for you guys. I know there are faulty products sometimes, and that people with faults are often vocal. But, I bet there's loads of people out there with issues too, who don't shout and just Make do. The idiots.
Monitor manufacturing is in a very poor state at the moment.

And all this ISO 'permitted' number of dead pixels. It might be legal, but it's pure horse****. I consider one dead or stuck pixel to be a fault.

Asked for replacement, didn't think it mattered, but if they are being that way I'll have a refund.

Well got mine all set up when i got home from work today and must say luck was on my side, no dead pixels, very slight backlight bleed on the bottom right.

As stated it seems to be some sort of frame issue as i only have to touch the corner for it to get worse, but the other 4 corners show no bleed unless i push reasonably hard, lucky its slight bleed for me.

As for the panel it is amazing, the colour clarity and in game G Sync with the ips panel is deffo the way forward, the only problem i forsee is my 970 being upgraded sooner than intended now, although i'm still pushing 70 average, 95 high in BF4 on high with 2x msaa.

Do you guys run less AA on a 1440 panel compared to 1080?, as obviously this impacts framerate somewhat, no AA looks amazing at the moment to me coming from 1080p

man I have waited for this panel for ages. The reviews paint it in such a posative light. I hope the guys with issues get it sorted soon. Good luck. Seems that if you get a good one it's an incredible monitor??

Not great for a £700 screen.

I still have an ancient Samsung Syncmaster 151s at home (back from when TFT was a new thing) connected to a storage server. It has no dead pixels and no bleed even after all that time. It's like construction quality is going backwards and people are just expected to accept manufacturing defects :/

not sure if this is the right place to ask but how do you guys send back items of this size? i've not done it before. DPD you seem to need an account and Royal Mail point me in the direction of Parcel Force. Is this right and should I use Parcel Force to return the monitor?

just for the record my panel is really nice - it has some of the bleeding but I could prbs live with if it didn't cost near enough £700 - BF4 and GTA are fantastic and I have never seen anything quite like it in a game before - its not all negative but I think for the build quality these prices need to drop

It's the same with all things now, I grew up with mum and dad using the same TV for 15 - 20 years and it never faltered and only got binned due to hdtv's coming out, even well put together stuff is only made for short term use, take the iPhone and the non replaceable battery that goes down after 2 years, normal upgrade time....

This makes me fear that the upcoming Acer XR341CK 34" Curved G-Sync will have similar quality issues.

If that turns out to be the case then I'm going for the Samsung S34E790C 34" Curved WideScreen though I really wanted G-Sync :-(

Well I have thoroughly checked mine, no dead pixels but some backlight bleed. I can notice it in a black screen but not during gaming.

Anyway here is some pics, please excuse the quality as taken with a mobile.

Can't say I'm thrilled at the bleed but the gaming experience has been fantastic and I'm not sure I could go back to not having G-Sync or 144hz refresh rate tbh.
