The horses mouth... completely honest.
I purchased one of the very first Acer Predators XB270HU back in April on launch week (from another company).
The box had been opened and resealed.
I had no dead pixels.
I had no trapped dirt.
I had no tiny creatures crawling across my screen (shame as I like a bet).
I couldn't give a to ss about the stand/usb/bezel etc.
In fact for 8 hours I was so stunned by the visuals that I duly posted on this thread to claim the new king of gaming had finally arrived.
Sadly as night drew in and dusk melted into artificial dimmed lighting I was stunned to see
"the yellow glow" gradually creep across the screen from the bottom right corner into the centre screen (as if my monitor had come out in sympathy on the 70th anniversary year of Hiroshima). It was slightly visible on lighter representations, but horrific on any night scene game, or movie.
Upon returning, RMA was denied and distance selling was accepted so i was charged to return it.
3 months later, 57 pages here/220 on O/clock net and counting, I decided to try another... from here... as it is currently on offer
£50 down on last week...
BUT FIRST... I '
customer supported' with a few different suppliers for their HONEST opinion before finally taking the plunge.
At last...
integrity.. albeit from a rival customer support team.
From The Horses Mouth... Honesty
"Being completely honest, I cannot recommend Acer's monitors for gaming. The issues you've experienced have been prevalent on many revisions and on various sizes also. In light of this, I am only recommending the Asus ROG Swift with a TN panel.
This first gen IPS effort by Acer is completely lackluster in my personal and professional opinion, so I'd have to say it's not quite prime time for G-Sync IPS just yet - I'd be waiting for a second gen unit to avoid such issues myself, so I'm sorry to say but there's no G-Sync IPS panel that I will recommend at the present time."
My initial disgust at this rival has been soothed and my trust has returned.
As I have stated throughout this thread... I do not blame the retailers, but....
ALL WE WANT IS TO BE TREATED AS ALL CUSTOMERS SHOULD... AS IF WE MATTER... AS IF WE ARE NOT JUST A ROUTE TO A QUICK BUCK.
ALL WE WANT IS A PRODUCT THAT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN
We don't want something for nothing.... just the truth.
Now let's move on...
