Acoustic Energy Aego

^^ Let us know when you get them!

As for the what hi-fi article, fancy giving us the general gist of it so we don't have to try and read it in WH-Smith's without buying it!

Hi,

Here's a couple of quotes from the review:

"...the Acoustic Energy also sounds terrific - it offers ample bass, excellent cohesion between upper and lower frequencies, and oodles of volume if desired."

"Cute, cheap and very, very good..."

Hi Brum Man,

The speakers were reviewed on their own. However, the final verdict said they were one of the best in its class.

Hi there,

I received my Aego M's this morning. I've just finished installing them and they're sounding much better than my old Creative I-trigue 3300's (which probably aren't they great). Vocals and metallic sounds are much more prominent and string instruments are crisper. The subwoofer volume is set at number 2 (there are 3 settings) and the bass is tauter.

The satellite speakers are about the size of a mouse so they're smaller than I thought they would be but they're pretty heavy for their size.

If I have time I'll try to take some photos.

Do they have a headphone connector? Also, would they be a good upgrade from my Inspire 6700's? I'm not using them as much for 5.1 so I want a decent 2.1 setup.

Hi cyKey,

Unfortunately there isn't a headphone socket on the Aego's.

Not sure how they would compare with the Inspire's as I've not heard them before.

Hi kidloco,

I did take a picture of the sub but I was having trouble uploading the picture. If I have time tonight I'll try again.

There are small pictures of the sub on the Acoustic Energy site:

Ok, I finally received mine today and all I can say is wow! :D

The satellites are very crisp and clear in all ranges, the sub managed to knock 5 frames of the walls in my house and wake my brother up at the same time :p

An excellent buy, worth every penny.

Hi,

I've currently got the bass setting on the subwoofer on level 1 (out of 3) and the bass is sufficient for me.

However, I don't really listen to much bass-heavy music so I'm not really qualified to answer this.

Another pic, the bass seems fine to me (I'm not qualified to answer that aswell :p )
