The only reason I think he has admitted it is on the advice of his solicitor hoping he can* wriggle the nonce out of doing time and Id be very surprised given the amount of money he has that they dont think there is a way out of it.

There is no way that he has come clean because its the right thing to do.

if he doesn't do time it will be a disgrace. If this was anyone else other than a premier league footballer he'd be inside getting his testicles whipped and drinking bromine tea already. When it comes to child sex offences I don't think plea bargaining should be permitted. He nonced a minor and should now serve the appropriate sentence. He certainly wasn't sorry while he was boning her so why does it matter now. More over its not like it was a one off, he met up with her 3 times. He has definitely got closet nonce tendencies inside him.

She was 15....humans are designed to reproduce from age 12, it's just our society that has stuck an arbitrary minimum age on what humans can and can't find attractive.
It's weird but there you go! You see loads of girls on TV that are about 16 yet look more like 20 so you can understand that mistakes can be made.

Anyway this makes me sounds bit like a paedo sympathiser so I'm out :D

Load of rubbish. A lot of young girls these days look a lot older than they are, and sometimes it's impossible to tell the difference. I know this by having a 16 year old brother and seeing the girls he invites back. I let them in the house, absolutely dumbfounded by the fact that they look the same age as everyone I hang around with at university in final year...
 
I'm getting a bit confused by what constitutes sexual activity these days and hence quite what he's pleaded guilty to. Some of the 'sisterhood' are calling rape and others are saying that there was a bit of kissing going on. Presumably he's pleaded guilty to a bit more than a peck on the lips?

As I understand it, the law on what 'sexual activity' is is pretty vague. Apparently, it's whatever 'a reasonable person' would consider to be sexual activity.

Barnados have apparently asked for clarification because they don't know quite what advice to give to young people.

Sounds like it's anything that is motivated by sexual attraction? Ie snogging, rubbing, feeling - all fully clothed...

Probably could classify most of what goes on in a nightclub as "sexual activity".

Can stop well short of any kind of sex involving genitals, it would appear. IANAL.
