So, I wonder how much tax-payers money they spunked up the wall up for this failure?
Fairly certain that is still illegal.
At least they acknowledged that it was a failure before seriously trying to implement it. So they probably didn't waste much of our money on it.
They'll think of something worse, more encompassing and entirely totally unenforceable/technically inept.
Probably provided wholly by the Chinese government as a friendly gesture.
What? They literally did try to implement it. [..]
I said they didn't seriously try to implement it. Which they didn't. There was a lot of talking and very little action.
I'm sure they did waste some public money onfreebies to their friendsconsultancy work, but I think what I said is true - "they probably didn't waste much of our money on it." Not in the context of government money-wasting, which goes way beyond that.
Do you have any evidence regarding how much money they wasted on it? Bearing in mind that nothing happened.
We'll just have to wait until a FOI happens as they're hardly going to admit wasting money, it's definitely not zero though, that much is sure.
I wonder how much this costed... Fiscally responsible my anus.
But what about the children?
Andi.
Fairly certain that is still illegal.
Take a bow, sir! That was most excellent, and didn't get the recognition it deserved. One is most amused!
As for the porn site ID nonsense, I'm glad it fell flat on its face as it deserved to. Hopefully this causes our technologically illiterate, ever increasingly dystopian government to think twice in future.
No it wont. You underestimate their plotting and scheming for the next thing.
What Government has been responsible with the publics money? Seriously...
I always used to think that. But it isn't always so.I get that it was "technically" for safeguarding kids, but it was never going to work on them (has anyone seen how savvy a kid is lately?)
I always used to think that. But it isn't always so.
Kids are very app savvy. They can use WhatshifaceApp or <insert app/device here>.
They aren't all that technical, for the most part. At least from what I've seen.
