Advice on using Protein Shake :)

None of that really makes any sense to me. Where do you get the figures of 7lbs in 25 days from? So you were 10st 5lbs on 1st December? Was that with or without a belly of of turkey hehe :D

Basically i am 11 stone 2 now (after a full Xmas dinner etc) on an empty stomach with no **** in my bladder POS, im 10 stone 12

And yet without a reliable way of measuring your bodyfat and (no offence intented, its just how it is) no real knowledge of what varying levels of bodyfat looks like, you've ascertained that you've gain 7lbs of muscle in 25 days?

Wishful thinking unfortunately! Just keep up the hard work!

The bodyfat measurer thingy is as accurate as any other BMI Tester....Lol...

and im sorry i mislead you, i was on Met-rx Whey Protein and a balanced diet of Carbs and Protein for atleast 5 months before purchasing the weight gainer...

I Dont mind though, if you dont think i have gained 7lbs, then fair enough. you didnt see me before i started training again. within the last 7 months i have gone from doing flies with 8kg dumbells upto 24kg dumbells.. I guess i just hit the weights at the right time (Testosterone levels through the roof :D) lol...

Go here: http://www.myprotein.co.uk , click on the price matcher and type in w*w.bulkpowders.co.uk. (without the star obviously)

5kg Whey Protein Concentrate 80 @ £31.95
5kg Ultra Fine Scottish Oats @ £9.89

Now for sweetening and flavouring there are a few options open to you.

The cheapest and unhealthiest:
1kg Dextrose @ £2.95
Nesquik - get from supermarket any flavour you want.

Healthier but more expensive:
2kg Palatinose @ £11.98 - you could try 1kg but it's only half as sweet as dextrose.
Cocoa Powder - get from supermarket, Green & Black's organic cocoa powder is awesome ;)

Also you could goto Tesco and get yourself 500g of organic flaxseed powder for £5 (it's cheaper and better than myprotein ;)) and add all that to your mix for some good fats and fibre.
Another choice from Tesco instead of myprotein is the oats. Tesco sell 750g of organic jumbo oats for about £1.20 but obviously these aren't as pleasant as the fine ground ones from MP, so it's upto you.

If you followed all that you'd end up with:

26lb of Top Quality Weight gainer for about £50 - cheap
or
28lb of Top Quality Weight gainer for about £60 - dearer but best.

If using MP for first time then using someones code (like mine MP5500) would save you 5% off your first order.

Use the money you saved to pay the little bit extra for some Channel Islands Gold Top milk (unhomogenized) to mix it all in and you've got a fantastic weight gainer. These choices are FAR healthier aswell as being much better value for money.

Chong...so

palatinose+nesquik+organic flaxseed powder= weight gain supp? yeah?

would i be mixing that with milk or water?

Aswell as the whey and oats yes. Full fat milk (unhomogenized is best imho) will give a very nice boost in calories aswell as adding some good fats, nutrients and slow releasing casein protein.

Will taste nicer too ;)

Another thing that can be added is coconut oil, this stuff is fantastic, especially a virgin organic one.

Yes that's what I use when bulking. Tastes a bit bland if using unflavoured whey but I don't mind that (most people do though, hence me trying to suggest methods of sweetening and flavouring earlier)

It's a fairly nutritious shake for very little money and much better than all those hyped up Enlargeabolic 5000+ Turbo weight gainers you see.

This is the beauty of it, you can adjust it and tailor it your own requirements. Need more carbs? Then just add more oats. Want more fat then add more milk, flax, olive oil, coconut oil, cocoa, etc.

I'll give an example for one I've used as a meal replacement pre workout:

80g Organic Jumbo Oats
40g Whey Protein Concentrate
250ml Full fat milk
250ml water
5g Cocoa Powder (org)
10g Coconut Oil (org)

Kcals - 750
Protein - 52g
Carbs - 62g
Fat - 32g
Fibre - 8g

I really do recommend the cocoa powder, it's a good habit to get into. Has many reported health benefits, is a great source of magnesium, antioxidants, stimulant properties, tastes good :)

You want some carbs PWO aswell as protein. Something like:

40g whey in
400ml skimmed-milk
banana

would be great imho.

Quantities depend on bodyweight and calorie needs. I'm 100kg and use these kinds of measurements so keep that in mind.

Then you can knock 25% off my figures.

Your PWO sounds fine, just make sure you get a good meal in you about 60-90 mins later. Don't be scared of milk, no need to avoid it PWO but I'd stick to semi-skimmed or skimmed at this time.

Thread revival :)

Just ordered that stuff and used your code - not sure if that gets you a discount on your next order, but thanks for the advise.

Do you just mix all the stuff together and take 1 scoop at a time? I used to use the Maximuscle stuff but this works out at like 1/10th of the price which is good enough for me :)

You train everyday and gain something like 2lbs of muscle a week eh? Dude you should market whatever it is you're doing because you're making better gains than pro's like Ronnie Coleman on insane amounts of steroids. Are you taking silly amounts of steroids?

Steroids or not, you can't add more than 1lb of lean mass a week IMO

It's easy to do a cycle, eat a crapload and put on 3lb a week, most of this will be water and fat though. Lean muscle tissue doesn't come cheap.

Even Ronnie would only add a few 10s of lbs of quality mass a year at his peak, and he would have been on gear all year.

It's upto you, probably easier to mix it all together but just make sure you get your ratio's correct or you could end up ruining it all. I just keep it all seperate and make a shake as I need it, this way I can change things when ever I need to :)
