Advice I always give to those who are nervous, a shot of alchohol never goes amiss before a 'date'. You will be more yourself and calm, giving a more relaxed impression. However, don't tell your date and brush your teeth

I would advise against this strongly, it could just make things slightly awkward when you do see each other.Why dont you text her how you feel? It'll be a lot easier if you're shy

If she's a shy girl that is just more reason to actually ask her out in my opinion. Shy girls want you to move to them, in my experience.
she texted me telling me she is busy this evening but she texted right when she got back from work and said we should do that again !

Dude, your 23. You shouldnt need to ask these questions. Dont go proclaiming your love for the girl, but there is no harm in suggesting it. Just allow it to fall into natural convocation. If she is 'busy the next couple days' try again later. If she is eternally 'washing her hair', its a no go.
Shy girls are the easiest, because all you have to do is flatter their self confidence. Just by being interested in them will get you further than you probably realise.

Easy if you are reasonably self-confident yourself, but not necessarily for a shy lad. The problem is that due to her shyness and the social stereotype (about how the bloke should make the first move), often she won't do anything - even if she fancies him - until he takes the plunge.
I reckon loads of potentially cracking relationships never even get off the ground because both parties are shy. When I was younger I probably missed out on loads of opportunities because I kept waiting for more signals or convincing myself that a girl wasn't interested when she actually was. Or say at a party/club I'd be like building myself up to make a move on some girl who'd been dancing/looking at me later in the evening and then never see her again
My advice is to strike while the iron is hot. Better to be rejected and know, than miss an opportunity and watch her ride off into the sunset with some other chap simply because he showed his interest.
Well I just fired off a message to her on Myspace asking if she wanted to meet up for a few drinks next week. Not ideal, but seeing as we have been talking that way for about 10 days might aswell
