So we have a proper power/weight thread for everything regarding progress around power output and weight loss for members of the forum. With this thread we can seperate out discussions regarding TT'ing/aero gains and tinkering in general whether it be mechanical or via the likes of GoldenCheetah/Aerolab to squeeze out those extra watts.

Rather than power/weight profiles, we will have members TT bests for profiles and like the other thread we can build this up to be a great resource of specific information.

For posting your details lets try and keep it standardised to the following. You can post less/more but * items are required -

I will create a seperate "Nutcase/Lunatic Thread" where 12 hour TT'ers and 3 day MTB racers can grunt and growl at each other :p

Just a bit busy today but got your email xdcx. Don't see why we can't have a third sticky in here so will look into it when I get some time :)

No problem and thank you :) Be 4 stickies, the power/weight one and also this one if that would be alright? I think the regulars will agree be good to have this and the power thread official and sticky in here

I do like my Velotoze but they are so much effort to get into.

I was driving home from my race last thursday and the guy with me noticed a cut on my thumb and a bit of blood dripping down my hand. He asked if I had come down in the crash...I had to admin that it was actually an overshoe removal accident :p

:D:D:D
I just ordered them in red from Sigma. You do mines, I'll do yours

What was he testing them against?
Some other aero overshoes? Surely they help compared to no overshoes at all?

Remember Callum saying to you when you first got them he didn't think they would be up to much or useful in the tunnel?

I struggle to understand how shaving your legs gives noticeable gains in the tunnel but a overshoe the air cannot penetrate would provide nothing at all :(

Everyone needs to get on this if not already - https://a1members.com/davidmillar-bikeradar/

You just sign up with name and email and you can watch the videos free of charge. I have watched the first video so far and already it is superb... Dave Millar has/had an incredible position for TT on the bike and I won't bother listing what he achieved, but pretty sure what the bloke knows his stuff and he is sharing everything in these vids. Awesome :D

I love his input when he is commentating on pro races, it's always great and adds a lot. So this is much in the same line he's a great teacher it seems.

I have my first TT on Sunday and my second TT on Wednesday evening.
Both 10's on the same course with my new TT bike that I have not turned a pedal on yet :)

Prepare for incoming fail. Hoping to go sub 30mins :p

23:10 first ever time on a TT bike on the road :p I done 30mins on it on the turbo on Friday night, prepared as always me!
Lots of tweaks to make to position, was running my F4R's don't have anything any deeper or that yet. Looking at getting Fizik Tritone as my saddle is really horrible that came on the bike and also fancy a Kask Bambino maybe when I get paid :)

Geeking out on data now of course in Golden Cheetah.

SoliD has went almost a minute quicker than me over a 10 on slightly less watts whilst being 5kg heavier than me. You are out-aero'ing me massively!!

I like this TT nonsense. Course profile, road quality, gear, weather are all massive influences beyond how hard you can push the pedals. It's OCD heaven.

Would have thought you'd have several minutes on the table there! How many watts was that? I've got 22mins off 317w ages ago on a crap course and I'm by no means aero. Would have thought I'd be able to get well under 22 on the road bike now.

259w avg
262w NP

It's cool because if I get my position spot on, aero wheels, aero helmet and ride exactly like I did yesterday it could be potentially so much quicker and I like that there is so elements at play.

You are a powerhouse Thomas do you not fancy giving TT a proper go as well???

OK, here I am in all my terrible position glory looking for advice and input on sorting it out please dudes :)

Saddle has been sacked as it was way too long, replaced it with a Tritone 5.5 now which even after 30mins on turbo is insanely better! I have aligned it so the front of the saddle is approx 5cm back from centre point of BB. I also lowered my saddle height about 2mm as this saddle is a little taller. Saddle on the front 2/3's is completely level, may experiment with tilting it forward ever so slightly?

I have also removed the remaining 10mm spacer so my stem is now as low as it can go (2x10mm and 1x5mm now gone). This should bring my front down a bit more and stretch me out a little.

I have also moved my extensions out about 10mm more as my hands were too far forward on them towards shifters.

Not sure I can comment on your position since I'm no expert, but you look a bit hunched up? You have a long torso!

Also, I think you need a pointy hat.:D

Yeah, short legs and long torso :( I am defo hunched like you say, hence lowering front and stretching out via moving extensions forward and new saddle back to flatten out.

I am getting a Bambino but can't afford it this month so will need to wait until I get paid :) It was either new saddle or lid and I decided my backside was more important than my head :p

I've got a Bambino. I think I've got the old one gen one though with super crappy visor magnets! Had to buy some off ebay to make the visor more secure.

I got a short tail style TT helmet because I can be a bit like Froomey and try to chew my stem instead of having a still head.:D

Have you also considered the Lazer Wasp Air?

Yeah read a few issues with the old gen, I would get the new 2016 pro one though and I am picking it solely because I love my Kask Mojito so know Kask stuff is decent and also because colour choice if anything, a lot more choice with the Bambino than the Wasp Air.

I suffer this too and probably have similar ish sort of look. (and long arms) I'm going to try out full superman and get my arms out as long as possible, but need to find some longer extensions as mine are at the maximum limit.

Longer arms will make it more difficult for you if siilar torso/leg wise :( I don't have particular long arms but what I do have is a proper inability to straighten my arms.... I have went my whole life not realising this, but my girlfriend noticed it and made fun of me and then at my physio last night I showed him (I thought it was normal) and he laughed also as my elbows lock out completely before my forearm is totally straight compared my upper arm... now on comparison to various other people I can see just how much my arms are limited in relation to what is "normal"... Obviously hasn't caused me any issues in life though as 28 years it's taken to even been seen as a thing.

23 dead tonight on the same course as Sunday.
10 degree's cooler, slightly less wind.
273w NP so 11 more watts to take 10 seconds off.
Felt much better position wise with dropping bars and the new saddle but was moving around and had no consistency tonight. Had massage last night and legs were dull as hell so I was not in a good place tonight... Still, PB is a PB and is only the beginning.

Nice one. I've been reading a lot about the "trip" aspects of these suits and the calf covers. That's very good gains considering the only thing changed was your suit/weather and there is really no difference at all in watts out/position. Impressive!

Conditions have been floaty as heck. I was out on Monday evening doing a TT session 3x5mins at >5w/kg and on my last effort I averaged 46.5kmh. I was pushing big watts but I felt very quick... 1002hPa @ 16degree's, muggy and showery throughout but not wet. Few degree's warmer and a more steady wind and I don't think up here conditions could be any more ideal than they were.

First 25TT last night in pretty naff conditions, wind from SW only averaged 38.5kmh on the way to the turn catching my minute and 2 minute man just before the turn. Then averaged 42.6kmh on way back. Road conditions utterly shocking, main A road for the entire area but it was truly bad and losing so much power barely able to even keep my arms on the pads it was really frustrating.

Time = 59:52
AP/NP = 238w/239w

Happy to nip under an hour for my first 25 but I worked way too hard for that mediocre time in all honesty.
