Afghanistan - 20 years on

Biden quickly going to say more stuff before knocking off for the weekend.

He seems woefully inept at leading tbh, I know we shouldn't assume certain aspects from politicians, but he doesn't give off a leadership vibe at all.

And apparently he has always been a bit rubbish during his 800yr career, so it's not like he has anything to fall back on it seems, Mr foreign affairs apparently. Dear lord...

Was visiting my old man in the nursing home yesterday and was speaking to a couple of the nurses, including the memory nurse, and jokingly said that if my old man could walk he'd be able to be POTUS. The nurse actually said that in her opinion Biden does show a few of the signs of suffering from some form of dementia or some neurodegenerative disease. But she also said that it's possible he's had a stroke and that's what's causing his behaviour, but if POTUS had had a stroke then wouldn't that be headline news and he wouldn't be fit for office?

That red line starts near the barrel at one end and below the butt at the other?
You can't see the butt of the rifle as it's hidden from the camera's view, you can impose an AK over the video still though:

Either way, it seems to show the shooter firing above the parallel rather than below it.

It seems for some reason the US forces aren't moving from the airport, while european countries soldiers are going in to Kabul.

What is up with America? This is the weakest display I've seen in my life time. They are usually the ones leading the charge in everything.

Is this a serious question? Have you not seen the utter disaster that is the Biden administration? We have a top military officer just a few months ago talking about "white rage", yet zero plans for a worst case Afghanistan scenario. The US is turning into a joke.

Isn't this the line of the barrel?

Bear I kind I drew this by hand on my phone?

Compare that to the picture from the original and its a huge difference.

He's certainly not firing into the air, barely above heads if not at headshot height.

I am quite...disgusted/shocked/confused(??? Not sure on the right word) with America right now.

Forgetting everything that led to this situation, the fact that they're not powering forward to expand the safe zone around KIA (airport) or going into the city to rescue people is really weird. It looks like the British along with some Euro allies are mounting rescue missions into the city (most likely special forces) and the yanks are almost in denial about the situation.

Maybe the US soldiers are more a target, dunno. I can see why they are trying to reduce potential flash points though, if a US soldier is shot at things could get heated pretty quick. It does make the US look very weak right now.

The line I drew is more accurate, but it doesn't matter as either line he's firing above the parallel, above peoples heads. Close to their heads? Absolutely, but still over their heads.

Also, if you look at the video before 28 seconds, you'll see the people aren't that near to him, and it goes down hill slightly, there's a trench most people are in. So the people are slightly below him.

The guy firing in the first few seconds of the video is also firing into the air, but at a more extreme angle.

All indications so far seem to show theses are allies of the coalition, not Taliban, firing above people to disperse the crowd.

Still waiting for the proof that these are Taliban that shot into the crowd and killed 6 people. Weird that the person who posted it, stated it wasn't the Taliban, and they haven't mentioned anyone being shot. Weird that nobody is covering it in the media when they cover lesser events, it's almost like... it didn't happen.
probably about as reliable as the
"crying mothers handing their babies over a wall to soldiers"

erm yea that's not really the whole truth though is it... cos theres videos where you see the "mothers" get pulled up and over the wall after but the media make it out like they are giving their kids away.
If I was in afghanistan I'd steal someones kid to get out no doubt.

I hope the gov does DNA testing

I don't think I noticed anyone with multiple children yet which is strange considering it's a country that likes big families.

I wouldn't want someone shooting in my direction like that.

Yeah take everything the media reports with a massive pinch of salt.

then you probably wouldnt form a crowd and try to rush somewhere thats guarded by people with guns.

our own government lets our police officers blatantly punch english protectors on the news.

like the cops have anger issues and can't control themselves.

you think they wouldn't fire rubber/real bullets overhead if they could get away with it? remember when BOJO the clown bought all those water cannon trucks to find out they are illegal to use in the UK....

everything is double standards, there's no difference when a taliban whacks a protestor and one of our police offices does the same

even totally restrained people have been anger punched by UK cops filmed by the media

Just keep your head down and obey the man. Protest has no place in the modern world unless officially sanctioned.
Presumably shooting above peoples heads may have worked at Hillsborough.
But yeah I think someone on here posted that the afghan army were mostly taliban anyway and we trained them.

Biden is just about to give a speech:

"coming soon" for an hour.

The americans have made the choice to trust the taliban, this makes it hard for them to do rescue operations outside the airport.

Also I noticed he seem to forget his line of words a fair few times, and on every occasion of which I think was kamala harris, she shuffled whenever he did this.
