Afraid to run XMP profile on ram with 8700K. Gskill ram.

So please listen . :)

The irony lol.

Why did you buy an 8700k if you have no intention of overclocking? You could have saved some money.

Anyway with regards to ram literally any 2666MHz ram off the QVL list will be fine. So buy the cheapest or if you’re going for a themed build then choose the design/colour you like.

Just be aware that you’ll likely have to tweak settings. My motherboard by default runs ram at 2133Mhz. I’ve had the itx ASUS Strix and now the Fatal1ty and they both do.

Not bothered as I tweak frequency and settings etc manually as I can’t run at the XMP 4266Mhz so had to settle for 4000Mhz.

On another note it’s quite funny that you don’t want to touch voltage settings due to fear of damage etc yet auto voltages on the motherboard will likely be much higher, even at stock. Especially the ASUS boards which have MCE enabled at default which will overclock all the cores to 4.7Ghz and likely push high voltage....

But why it revert to 2133mhz? My mobo have max 2666mhz on ram ( no oc ).

So this doesnt matter?

I don’t know the reason why they do. The cpu imc is now able to run 2666Mhz natively.

My guess is that most manufacturers simply haven’t made the necessary adjustments to the bios.

Or maybe DDR4 is rated at 2133Mhz at stock i.e anything above is classed as overclock and would need XMP enabled.

There’s probably another reason but someone more knowledgable can shed some light.

All I can tell you is the motherboards I’ve used run ram at 2133Mhz (1066Mhz in CPU-Z) at stock bios settings.

• XMP Profile #1: DDR4-2666 CL16-18-18 @1.2V

What is JEDEC? They mean that 2666mhz will be on auto ? Like in my mobo for example.
You said that will revert to 2133mhz.

Just buy the damn stuff. You are giving me a headache, I would hate to think what your brain must be doing right now.

Yes, this RAM is different to most and will run at 2666 MHz without you changing any settings. This is one of the features of the Kingston HyperX Fury line: you don't have to enable XMP for it to run at the rated speed. Jedec (also known as SPD) is the default settings the RAM will run at.

Ok listen . So if that GSKILLS 2x8GB, ( 3000mhz XMP ) are cheaper 71 euro than this kingstons take Ripjaws then? But i will be must use XMP on them hoping it will be stable?

I don like mess in bios.

It’s not messing in the bios it’s just one option to enable and that’s it.
If you don’t know how then find a YouTube video that explains it.
