Age of Conan

we're looking for a great PvP game, something which AoC have made great claims that they can deliver, and I dont mean 6 months after release.

Well if you want it perfect dont pick it up on the day of release, pick it up in 6 months or when its been reviewed properly.

The only mmo that I can recall having few bugs on release was LOTRO.

If its a pvp mmo you can be guaranteed there will be tons of bugs.

I am not expecting it to be perfect on day of release, I've done every major mmo on release day since UO in 1997, so I know that.

I do however at least expect core game concepts to be in and running on release day, not something they decide to add 6 months down the line. Dont know if you are in AoC beta or not , but if you are then you know what the current situation is with entire game concepts given the release date of late may.

I'm not in the beta but am concerned about the pvp siege part of the game because if that's not in the beta now then I can't see it being ready for launch at all. They've advertised it quite a lot and given that a major part of war will be pvp they need to make it good (and on time).

Well they are doing a digitel download a few days before comercial release & well it sounds tempting. The only prob. is I have heard it is not so great by some people. So any good reviews out there on the whole game? Hard to explain but I look forward to it, but not liking it that much.

I'm looking for an MMO which is a bit more free to do what you want to do. ie. can i gather a group of people in AoC and then just attack random passers by to steal their possesions?

I gather the siege pvp in aoc is an actual mode you have to press a button for?

aorry if my typing is a bit unclear, i have a broken collarnbone and am using one hand

PvP rulesets haven't been decided upon yet, but it won't be full loot in PvP thats one thing that's for sure. Gain and loss of Bloodmoney / PvP XP yes, but past that no one knows as the devs haven't decided themselves yet.

And yeah battle keeps will be "push a button" the defending guild opens a window of opportunity for other guilds to come and try and take it away from them.

I can so see it being pushed back again. That said, know a couple of people in beta, say it's not all that. So some screenies, graphics are a bit average for a DX10 game, but sitll time for them to turn them up. Characters look EQ2ish.

I've a horrible feeling it will be pushed back again, myself. Let's hope it's just good old fashioned paranoia.

I think the more I read about AoC, the more bored I got playing WoW, and eventually quit. I'll definitely be playing this, it's the largest reason for me upgrading my PC lately. Just need to get a graphics card, but I'm going to wait till nearer release and hopefully prices will be better in general.

i agree, its not all that sexy but its probably because its a beta and final configs etc are not decided upon.
Im not sure about an open beta..its getting some hardcore testing right now, the closed beta for this is massive compared to WoW's, so wouldnt suprise me if this was it.

The graphics are amazing if you've tweaked all the settings including in the Debug menu. DX10 isn't in the game yet so no point in complaining it doesn't look good for a DX10 game.

The graphics are great, the PvE 1 - 80 is shaping up pretty damn well but the missing content that we've been promised for release is concerning and the reason most people want to play the game in the first place.
