Age of Conan

Do you need to pay to get this beta?

I'm guessing when it mentions subscribers - that's anyone who has an account?

I remember signing up for the Founders club sub when Crysis came out. Can you still do that for just one month?

You're right, the FP subscription page just gives you the monthly price depending on if you pay quarterly, Fileplanet annual or Founder's club annual memberships. :o

I got my pre-order key through from Gamespot this morning.
Go to http://register.ageofconan.com and enter your key. You may begin downloading the game client software and installing as early as May 14. Then you may create a character and begin playing on May 17, 3 days before commercial release on May 20, 2008. Your character and all his/her progress will be preserved into commercial release. This key also unlocks your in-game item. Note: There is a nominal fee of $5 that covers the cost of the download and includes 10 days of additional game time. Some restrictions apply, see registration page for details.

If you hit the 'No Thanks' text in the bottom right you can pay a $7 monthly Sub (opens in new window/tab). Use PayPal and you can cancel with a click.

Anyone having issues downloading the client, its in my download queue but never finds a mirror :(

A level cap of 13, and only a month until release? Levels 14 and above absolutely must be tested, and tested by numbers far greater than any internal testing team that have been employed so far. If you're not going to do that, then you are trying to hide something.

Something's wrong here. I smell a rat.

I doubt the whole of the game is finished for release and they want to test the start areas the most, since that'll be what most people base their views of the game on. A good "open" beta will also increase the hype through word of mouth.

You don't get any meaningful (well very little) feedback from large open beta's anyway. It's been getting tested in large numbers for quite a while, just not free keys from places like FP till now.

There are 15,000 people who have been testing the game for a year. The FP open beta is only a stress test.

Lol. The game is fine past level 13.

So who has been testing raids and sieges, and what are they like? Whats the risk vs reward and loot tables like, what class does the most dps, what are the lvl40 spells and abilities like, any bugs? Whats the most completed content? What about invisible walls, I heard they were everywhere, hows that looking now.

Has testing the end game and sieges ended now until release? Sorry for all the questions :)

What class will people be playing?

from the selection i have seen so far i wanted to go mage, but i only see Demonologist, necromancer (dont usually like playing corrupted evil classes) so i will most probably go with Herald of Xotli.

Seems to be a decent fun mix of Melee and Spell casting.
