Yeah there is, but here's a tip. Ten Ton Hammer are giving away General beta keys, not the naff lvl 13 ones to all premium members, it costs $9.95 which is probably cheaper than the quarterly fileplanet you'd have to pay.

Once no more of their premium members want the general beta keys, if there are any left they will raffle them off to their simple registered members. I know some people don't like paying, but if that comp is still open then it's a guarunteed spot in general beta.
 
Thanks, I'm not paying to get into a beta, screw that :p

I was gonna try open beta and if it was good then pre-order it to get the Rhino mount, but I guess I'll wait for a trial copy to come out.

Just a tip, you don't need to buy a quarterly sub to FP, click No Thanks and get the monthly one.

I do agree though that the Ten Ton Hammer deal sounds better.

Edit: But they've given away all their keys...

Ah so it is, they were quick. Not surprising seeing as they have nearly 2000 people online on their site even at this time of the mornin lol.

I hadn't realised the fieplanet thing for clicking no thanks, i might just keep that to myself instead of letting my guildies know, they'll all be kicking themselves.

Yeah my best friend did the same thing, I told him when he said he'd paid for a quarterly sub. He wasn't impressed :p
 
I almost did the same thing when I couldn't find the monthly sub. My persistence paid off though. I hate the idea of paying for a beta but I think the £3.50 is worth it because:

1. This close to release, the game is unlikely to change much, if at all. I'll know if I want to buy the game or not.
2. Time played per £. Even if I only end up playing for a couple hours, it's far cheaper than going to the cinema or to the pub for a pint.
 
Am I right that we cannot make new accounts until tomorrow for this stage of beta?

Got it all installed although seems to throw up the odd error but no account login yet to patch it.
